Combinations - diphendydramine (benadryl) + dextromethorphan (coricidin)

SWIM already has done 12 benadryl (300mg) and he was debating on taking some coricidin as well. Has SWIY ever tried this combo before? If not, any thoughts on the subject?

one thing swim would say is check that the coricidin doesnt have Chlorpheniraminein it. Not good stuff, many coricidin products contain it.

not to long ago swim and some swiyers went out and decided to try this vey combo! swim took 350 mg diphen and 400 mg dxm all was well for about an hour then shit started going downhill. The next three hours were a functionless semi scared trip that left all of us wishing it would stop.

so a word from the not so wise diphen and dxm are good by themselves but be cautious when mixing them!

Swim does not know much about this combination but he will say this much more strongly than it was said earlier in this thread.Do not use coricidin for a dxm experience!Swiy wants a product that is pure dxm.Coricidin is some very dangerous stuff because of the cpm in it.Swim found this out the hard way swiy doesn't have to.

I'll make it even stronger for ya Orchid! This cannot be stressed enough - Coricidin Cough & Cold (CCC) should not be used recreationally, & it's dangers have been well covered here & elsewhere.

A Certain Mouse cannot imagine a worse combination than a strong dissociative (dextromethorphan) combined with a deliriant antihistamine, both physically & mentally. The antihistamine at therapeutic doses (i.e. those recommended for combatting histamine reactions such as Robo itch) should be fine, so long as the dxm preparation does not contain an antihistamine already (as CCC does) - anything approachin recreational doses in this combination is asking for trouble, on many levels.

Please do some research on the relative dangers of everything that may enter your marmoset's body & mind, including any drug-drug interactions - this informaton is readily available with 10 minutes on either our own or your favourite Search Engine.

Swim would think anyone that had an overdose of coricidin would be smart enough never to do it again.A large dose of cpm would be scary enough but combined with the effects of dxm it is just plain terrifying.Swim doesn't really understand how people can abuse this on a regular basis.Swim is pretty sure even if someone gets away with this a few times one day it will end in tragedy for these people.

In high doses, both chlorpheniramine (from Coricidin) and diphenhydramine (Benadryl) are potent CYP2D6 inhibitors. This means that in this combo, even the DXM itself will be much more psychotic, dysphoric, impairing and longer-lasting.

To this, add the effects of the two deliriants and one may have a near-death experience or (more likely) an actual death-experience.
