Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
With the never ending stream of studies that seem to raise the issue of the damage caused by smoking unfiltered joints that have had the mj mixed with tobacco, SWIM wonders if anyone has any "healthier"
alternative fillings.Whilst there is the obvious option to use "legal high" herbs to accompany the mj, the user would end up paying a premium for a product that, as long as his local supply is of good quality, didn't actually need to enhance the joint. Bearing this in mind, is anyone aware of a joint filler that would be relatively benign when smoked, yet burn at a similar rate to tobacco. Answers on a postcard please. |

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
Never tried it swimself but swims heard blue lotus is nice when mixed with cannabis. Perhaps when swim read about it was in relation to bong use but it might be worth looking into too see how blue lotus burns for use in spliffs.

Dried mint is nice, but a bit heavy as well.

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
Monkey says there's always the option of simply smoking the cannabis by itself. He's rather curious as to why so many people use "filler" in the first place?

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
^^^^^ Weed only joints can be awfully wasteful with a fair amount of it burning off into the atmosphere instead of someone's lungs.
Smoking a joint with a filler such as tobacco is a lot more efficient. It probably didn't matter back when weed was cheap but weaker than the current strains available to most consumers. Now people pay a premium for a product that needs less to achieve a good high. 'Sides which, SWIM can't smoke resin in a joint without a filler of some sort. |

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
Just a shame people have to use cancer causing fillers, that allows people to attack or make bullshit statics that weed causes cancer when they don't count the tokers that mix there joints with tobacco.

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
Swim tends to buy bags of legal highs, the ones with lotus leaves tend to work very well. One particular bag of legal had strange purple leaves, turned the smoke in the bong a slight shade of blue which was very strange.
The legal high "Spice gold" is good to mix with but only if you're toking, spice through a bong just isn't nice. |

What about pipes? SWIM always smokes through his lovely glass pipe and never has to worry about being wasteful with his weed or using cancer causing fillers. For SWIM pipe is the way to go!

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
True but passing a spliff is more of a social thing , yes a bong, vaporiser etc can be passed also but its not quite as discreet or convinient as a spliff. If swim were to pass around bong hits to all his friends his bag would deplete a little too fast for financial reasons.
Also smoking cannabis with tobacco give's a different high to smoking cannabis pure.....not saying its better or worse, just different time's call for different highs. |

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
Don't forget about hash, which is hard to smoke pure in joints. Not to mention the large amont you would need for a decent joint.

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
Monkey enjoys just getting some cheap redbud on occasion for that nice passing the joints around experience, and saves the high quality stuff for pipes, bongs, etc. Or he just rolls smaller joints for quality material since it still gets everyone stoney-balognied. But monkey isn't too picky about his bud usually so that may not be a desirable option for many.

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
I'm vehemently anti-smoking, but I really don't see tobacco filling as that big of a deal. I mean unless you smoke spliffs exclusively and often it's really probably not going to cause health problems. You can smoke a pack a day from 18-28, quit, and by the time you're 40 it's like you never smoked at all. Unless you're smoking multiple spliffs every day the effects of smoking less than one cigarettes worth of tobacco occasionally really isn't going to kill you.

Re: Best joint filler - Alternative to Tobacco
The Blue Lotus 5X is swims favourite mix, it seems to give him a more uplifting / less anxious stone. He also likes kanna.
If one wanted a less active mix Damiana should work well. |

Would SWIY use the lettuce with or without french dressing? One could as well add some fried croutons to the mix
