Does ecstasy affect puberty?

Hello, i am wondering if ecstasy affects puberty, a friend of mine takes it, and to tell the truth he has not reached his full state of puberty, can ecstasy alter it?

Hello? new question... Why would someone be taking extacy pre puberty?! That being said if he started post puberty starting it shouldnt effect it... although Im not sure about the fifty things that E can be cut with Swis wouldnt be supprised if Meth fucked up puberty(although i have no data backing that up). Also note puberty CAN last as long as 21-25 ish

okay, well he told me, he just gone through it, like.... sorry to say but his penis is not fully grown, but he is growing hair, height is coming along, will this affect the size of... and his growth spurt too?

If your friend isn't old enough to be going through puberty.. (Unless he started exceptionally late) SWIM's not sure he should be taking E, but then again SWIM can't tell people what to do O

SWIM hasn't heard anything about E affecting puberty either... he would guess that that is because there aren't many cases of pre-pubescent people starting to take E...

It shouldn't happen, a member recently posted that his hamster's pet son, who is 15years old I believe, took Ecstacy and had a pretty good experience. Mind you the kid in question did research and asked quite a bit of questions in order to obtain enough information to have a safe experience, which is what your friend should do.

i dont get it.... basically nothing shouldnt happen right? continuous use (every 3 months) while going throw puberty should not alter his stage correct? i mean so far, he is fine, been doing it for 6 months, i see nothing wrong with him yet, he says he got hair growing at the spots where it should be . but what about growth down there and height, is what he is mainly concernced about.

How often does your friend use? Regular usage is not recommended, some say to wait at least a month between experience and that is on an adult body. I doubt that with responsible usage that permanent damages will occur since a number of drug users are teenagers/young adults.

Well, if you have any concerns about him, then is the time to worry... if he's fine for now, just make sure his usage doesn't increase...

Is the amount he is taking E an issue? (Usually once with at least a month inbetween isn't bad, assuming he only takes about 1 or 2 pills per roll.)

he is fine, he can control himself, he is just worried that e is affecting his spurts and all, and that because his body isnt in balance this can alter his stage of puberty... that is why i ask if anybody would know. in the mean time he has done 1-2 pills per month..

There isn't going to be many problems with only 1 or 2 pills per month...

Again, if you start seeing some problems with your friend, then worry about it... Otherwise, he should be fine continuing that frequency of use.... If you're worried about him, maybe you should suggest he go about 6 weeks or longer inbetween rolls, instead of just a month?

basically he's fine, good friend, i mean i dont worry, he knows his limits, he plans on stopping soon, but he was just wondering about his puberty stage, basically you are saying that his puberty stage wont be affected by e, the only thing he should be worrying about is becoming an addict correcT?

Becoming an addict is what could affect his puberty... so yes, Just tell him to be mindful and to know his own limits... from the sounds of it, you don't have anything to worry about... he sounds like he's going about this the right way.

thank you very much, a final answer.... ill tellhim after the rave he should just do it once every three months or drop it... its never too late to quit.

It may not affect puberty per se, but the brain is definitely more vulnerable to behavioral deficits caused by mdma neuro-toxicity at a younger age like that. It doesn't mean he shouldn't do it, but it does mean he should probably use it fairly infrequently(once every 3 months is probably safe). He should also look into all the different theories about preventing neuro-toxicity, such as anti-oxidant pre-loading, prozac(or possibly another SSRI like St. John's Wort) post-loading, keeping his body temperature under control, and maintaining a healthy electrolyte balance(drink enough water _AND_ salt, e.g. gatorade).

There is some scientific evidence behind each of these things being helpful(particularly the last two), and there is no reason to believe they'd be harmful.

I agree. Also, no child that has not reached puberty, in my honest opinion, should use drugs. Think about that one for a second...
