Why Teas? What about Tinctures?
Tea is the traditional way to prepare kratom, but swim has always gotten FAR greater effects by using ethyl alcohol. The Merck Index does not say anything about mitragynine being soluble in water, but only in acetic acid, alcohol and chloroform.
When swim consumed a "ghetto" tincture by microwaving kratom covered in ethyl alcohol for 20 seconds, the effects were far greater than a tea in which the same amount of material was boiled and reboiled and steeped and boiled once again. SWIM no longer resorts to this long and arduous process because it seems to be inefficient. Making a tincture not only saves swim's kratom, but allows him to reach very strong effects with very short prep time. Any opinions? |

less amount of fluid therefore quicker digestion and absorption, also the alcohol may have increased the effects of kratom. good ghetto tincture idea though, SWIM likes.

swim just pours hot (not boiling) water over powdered leaf and drinks it straight (leaf material and all)...swim says its quick, easy, and you get the full spectrum of alkaloids (mitragynine isn't the only active alk.)... may not be the best tasting drink, but it works well
