Re: Confusion is caused by not being aware of the Truth
If not confusion, anxiety is caused by not acknowledging the nature of yourself. 'You' are only a thought process, just like the thought that thinks 'I thought of that', but only at different time. There isn't any permanent 'you', everything is only a reflection of the outer world, and it's constantly changing. The part that one would like to most describe as you would be the most slowly changing one, the deeper parts of your brain where all the spontaneus stuff pours from. It is also most difficult to notice exactly where is something from uncosciousness reflected, but it still is a reflection from the 'outside'(quotation because there's no plain you in contrast to the outside world).
So, the more you start chasing yourself, the more you get anxious because there's nothing to find in contrast to the finder. It gets a lot easier when you just accept and feel that there's only the experience of the moment, it's changing all the time and trying to grab it only interrupts it. |

Re: Confusion is caused by not being aware of the Truth
Someone said I could be scaring the kids. You are the source of your own happiness,as well as fear.
But I also like to think of a good trip being like seeing heaven and hell collide,or a massive battle. As long as I am just an observer,it is well cool. But as soon as I get involved, whoah! Both the demons and angels are waging their war against me. In fact,I quite like that.SWIM has had mushy trips like that(liberty caps.)It is almost though the competing forces inside me-temptations?-to do "right",eg"upstanding and moral" no matter who it upsets(being too serious),or to do "wrong",eg.to be true to my desires whatever the cost(taking nothing serious), are symbolised outside SWIM in lucy form. But,really, they are all wrong, tempations to go "left" or "right".They are only choices.I make the choices, and the only truth is what reflects me.The truth is the only way forward. It would be true to say that now I am getting confused. . .order comes out of chaos!Stay with the truth-I am confused. . .I am sure about that!It is true. If I can see that fear causes fear, then I'm ok.Nature is as it is,wether I interfere with it or not.But if I forget that, then the fear has an effect on me,instead of itself, and I am no longer an observer,I become an agressive participant, rather than being passive to the point that I have no effect on fear at all.If I don't try to affect the fear, then it won't sneak up behind me and kick my arse for fun.Be scared, just don't fear the fear.Admit the truth that you are scared, don't push it away.Let sleeping dogs lie. I read somewhere that you can't "add to or take away from tao",or,in the west, the truth. Last edited by RJeez; 17-02-2008 at 16:50. |
