Morphine Sickness anyone?

SWIM took about 50 mg morphine (pills) last night. She has taken 30 mg once before, exactly two weeks ago, and both times she ends up feeling like total shit. This time she threw up, and now that it's the next morning, she still feels very sick and continues to throw up. Her teeth keep chattering slowly when she tries to go to sleep. All she can do is lie down. Is this common?? SWIM hates morphine now and doesn't want to try it again. Maybe she is just sensitive to it.

Some people are allergic to all types of different things. Has SWIY used opiates before? If so, did they have similar problems?

SWIM has a friend that is allergic to pot (of all things).

In addition a good amount of people experience a lot of nausea with opiates as well. phenergan usually helps this.

Morphne taken orally causes alot of things along those lines. Lots of people say that oral morphine isn't really a great recreational drug. If SWIA doesn't like it, don't take it. It will save alot of problems anyways -Opiates are not something you want to force into you.

SWIM has smoked opium before and didn't find it special or anything..just made her sleepy. Morphine does the same, just more intense, plus the sickness. Yeah, SWIM doesn't think she should be doing opiates..no mas!

SWIM keeps some time between his opiate and opioid experiences, which means it will also mean his body won't be used to it.
It's normal for SWIM to be nauseous when he takes a high dose of opiates/opioids, especially on the end of the experience, and he usually has a hangover the next day which makes him lethargic, nauseous and sometimes even vomit.

SWIM has taken many opiates in the past and agrees with you. They are nothing special-- and are unpleasantly physically addictive.

swims rec dose of m has been around 50mg to lately. The few days after ingestion are quite trying especially day 2 and swim thinks way worse than coming down from "party drugs". Swim just tries to keep the fluid up, take paracetamol and valium to help sleep through the night... As for the sweats and polar body temp fluctuations, well they just have to be ridden out.
Swim thinks if one is on certain medications eg: anti-depressants or generally not well then these factors can make coming off twice as unpleasant.

SWIM experinces itching and sometimes nausea when she does morphine.
also,SWIY could be taking an OTC or prescrition that goes against it,like certain MAOI's,or allergy meds?

It seems like morphine effects some people badly.Swim likes it a good deal yet his friend who likes opiates as much as him really does not care for morphine and says it makes him sick and makes his stomach hurt.

SWIM likes it,and hasnt really had a bad experince or met anyone who has on it,except if you bang it and get a ''dirty'',but since SWIY is taking it orally,that cant be it.

Swim has taken opiates too many times too count, but most time were just as pain killing. He has only gotten ill when taking kratom, which is normal I hear, and after he took about a pounds worth of seeds to make tea. The tea nausea wasn't that too bad though. 50mg does seem like a very big dose for someone who hasn't taken it very much though. A guy I know smokes maybe 100mg, but usually less, of opium to get a good effect. That should only be around 10-20 mg of morphine, but he is rather experienced with it and other opiates.

SWIM has tried morphine twice, once IM and the other orally. The first time, he didn't have a sufficient dosage to really feel the effect of the drug, the second time he ended up taking too much and ended up throwing up for over 12hours.

Yesterday, SWIM took 2mg of hydromorphone via IV, had a nice rush and a decent feeling - SWIM even took 2 gravoles and ended up puking 3times but nothing that ruined the experience. SWIM actually believes that the cigarettes he was smoking had to do with the vomitting because after the 3rd time puking, he decided to stop smoking and the rest of the night was pretty pleasant and even smoked 2 marijuana joints without added nausea... The Marijuana actually added a nice effect to the opiate.

Swim has some friends that get really sick from oral morphine. swim does not however he thinks some of it has to do with the amount of food consumed. also opiates can make swiy feel queezy if one was to move around to much. some people do have allergys to opiates. Swim usually gets fairly sick after a long binge but not much otherwise. swim also usually feels the effects of morphine for a good 30 hours or so although diminished after about 10 hours or so. Opiates dont offer much other then euphoria and are not good to make a habit of... if swiy didnt enjoy them its smart to leave it at that then investigating further.

Swim has had an opiate addiction for a good year and a half or so now, alternating between morphine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and hydromorphone, and swim agrees that morphine has the most potential to make one sick. Swim has an opiate tolerance (I make sure it stays fairly low though, monitoring my usage and dosage), and feels absolutely no ill effects unless too much is done (swim injects, by the way). However, anyone that is fairly new to opiates will possibly experience some degree of sickness with all of them. To say the least, opiates are not for everyone and they are definitely an acquired taste for most people, not to mention it takes a lot of experience and experimentation with them to full "get" opiates. Swim used to be a pretty bad-off tweaker who thought opiates of any sort just gave swim a stomache ache, didn't deliver on the high, and made swim feel awful the next day.

Well, swim actually replaced meth with morphine (oxycontin was worked into swim's routine later, prolly his favorite) completely. Swim feels energized and motivate when all pilled out (especially with morphine...at the right doses, definitely a speedy quality to it), and I think a lot of it is finding the dosage that is right for you. Literally, 5 mg can make the difference on whether you get sick or not. You just have to experiment, and your dosages will vary with all opiates.

Be aware to, it is extremely easy to overdose on all opiates and (heroin aside) especially morphine. However, morphine ODs tend to not be as lethal as say, oxycodone, but the drug feels more powerful. ANYWAY (swim is high now and did not mean for this to be a long message morphine has a lot of side effects, especially when absorbed slowly (i.e., orally) into the body, that you don't experience as much or with as much intensity with other opiates.

BTW, if you are sensitive to opiates (most people are, somewhat), 50 mg is WAY too much to just get high...as swim sits here and thinks about it, it's no wonder you got sick. Seriously, if 50 mg makes you sick, then take 15, 20, or maybe 25 mg...you will enjoy it so much more and any sickness can usually be cured by laying down or smoking a joint.

If you are sensitive to opiates in general, then try some weaker opiates...hydrocodone or codeine (codeine is a better high, ISHO), or for a mellow, side effect-free, clean-feeling high try low doses of oxycodone/contin (10-20mg), but oxycodone may make you just as sick as the morphine. Also, eating a small bit of food may help settle your stomach.

Swim should disclaim like others in this thread, too. Too be honest, swim usually enjoys his habit to the max, but through many hard drug trials and tribulations (mainly with meth/uppers), swim has found that ultimate balance between his habit and a normal healthy life (as healthy as a junkie can be, lol).

You've never felt pain before you've had to withdraw from an opiate binge, its really somethin else. You will get physically addicted, even from just doing small amounts, though you can control this to a degree (weening yourself down in dosages, and such). Opiate addiction seems fairly tame in the first stages, but it gets bad so quickly, and the risk of overdose is greater than that of most other recreational drugs (that is not stated as fact, but is believed to be true based on swim's extensive research).

Swim agrees with the other posters...if you tried morphine and didn't enjoy it, please just leave it alone. The end results of being a junkie are not worth getting to know the world of opiates, though it is a wonderful, happy world at times (till the withdrawal, anyway ).

Please just stop trying to force the stuff down you and go find something less harmful to try, SWIM wishes her first experiences with opiates had been bad ones but they weren't. SWIM has battled with opiates for 23 years, like all addicts SWIM thought she was in control, then one day she woke up and she wasn't. Once it's got you it's got you for life, even if you manage to stop it can come back for you at the slightest sign of trouble, the sickness you feel now will be nothing compared to full blown withdrawal, thats what you're heading for if you keep taking the stuff.

After many great experiences, swim definetly feel swim could do it almost everyday but the increasing tolerance is something worries swim a lot, besides, the after-effects are always awful for swim and addiction.
