Jesus and Magic Mushrooms

Has anyone else heard this theory? That the accounts of miracles, and divine intervention were products of magic mushroom use. The bread at the last supper was like flesh, mushrooms are skin/fleshy. Mushroom tea wine? Or just wine but also magic mushrooms, amanita or psilocybin. Search the internet "jesus and magic mushrooms" if you don't know about this theory.

What does everyone think? It's possible right? In hallucinations, impossibilities can become possible.

This theory explains a few things like the water to wine story as well as the last super and the whole manna deal but it still does not explain jesus' other miracles like him bringing lazarus back to life and him walking on water. Unless that is Jesus gave all of his followers tons of shrooms and then they wrote down there perceptions of the events not being aware that they were in fact tripping.

There's actually a Jewish myth of four great Rabbis finding themselves in Pardes (Orchard/Paradise) and being given the chance to look unto the face of God and receive all cosmic knowledge.

• Rabbi Simon ben Zoma went insane.
• Rabbi Akiba escaped unharmed. (as he decided not induldge in the experience)

If there's any possible record of psychedelic experience thousands of years ago in organised religion, it's that. :P

What's also interesting about the story is that Pardes is made up of four hebrew letters, each linked to a word.

Each type of Pardes examines the deeper meaning of a text. As a general rule, the deeper meaning never contradicts the base meaning. The Pshat means the literal interpretation. Remez is the allegorical meaning. Drash is homiletic meaning and Sod represents the mystical meaning.

This is considered the way in which one enters into Jewish mystical study, starting with the literal and then learning the mystical. This is the most common method of study, as in the largest school of Jewish thought one is meant to be over forty and a full Talmudic scholar before they can rightfully begin studying Kabbalah and Mysticism.

However, one subgroup of Judaism, originating around Spain, is known as Sephardi.

If one were to take the letters forming Pardes, and rearrange them to spell out Sephard, we'd get.

samech: Sod
pey: Pshat:
dalet: Drash
reish: Remez

Which is in essence, the Sephardic method of exgenis. Beginning with first studying the mystical aspects of a text before the literal.

I don't give much thought to theories like these..because I have a hard time believing that these miracles even happened, or that Jesus even existed.

This theory runs even deeper into human evolution - The 'Stoned Ape theory'. I recommend a GREAT book by Graham Hancock called 'Supernatural' in which he discusses this theory and other theories on the evolution of human consciousness. He talks about his experiences with Ayahuasca and Iboga in great detail too.

Sure, there may well have been a bloke called Jesus (it wasn't a big deal to be called that back then either), but all this "miracles" rubbish is no different to the sort of chinese whispers that plagues our modern history today.

Not only are most of the stories *heavily* edited by the various powers that be over the ensuing two millenia but different religious groups cherry pick whichever conflicting parable best matches their own religious bent.

I mean, FFS, the religion of the UK (as long as you don't count all those damn immigants!) is called "Church of England" - A breakaway religion from the Roman Catholic Church made up by Henry VIII because he wanted to remarry!

So YES, as I clumsily crowbar my way back on topic, Jesus may well have got a whole bunch of people ripped off their tits in order to get them telling a bunch of way cool stories that got made into a book a a couple of hundred years later!

Anything is possible but it doesn't matter. There is nothing spiritual about a man in a book who happens to be the son of a rather pathetic god. The book doesn't even have a word for, "husband and wife" just, "Master."

Interesting theory, but its irellivent, as the whole idea of god, jesus, adam and eve.....etc, is bollocks. We know its bollocks because for instance, if adam and eve where the first 2 people on earth, then they had 2 sons, where the fuck do we go from there! Population of the earth fucked at step one. Not only that, its impossible to start a species with only two original animals, (ie. Noah), and also in the bible it says that cain and able married!! Who the fuck did they marry!! Who carried out the service!! Who invented the idea of marriage!! There wernt any fuckers around!! Also the whole point of the bible was to keep simple minds in check. If you are told that ''if u are caught stealling you will go to prison'', you may still do it as the whole system depends on being caught, but if you are told, ''if u steal god will see and you will go to hell, regardless'' there is more chance that you will not do it, its the ultimate way of controlling people. Not only that, why would u need hell if god forgives all!! And jesus is forever telling people to give up there possesions, but as we knw the church is and always has been one of the richest organisations in the world. All organised religion is crap, beleive in yourself. The other thing about christians that really pisses me off is that they just riping off the pagan religion (which is far older than fucking christianity) all the time, and things they hold dear are always turned around by the church and are made out to be evil. Example : For pagans 13 is a lucky number, as is 3 & 9 (9 being 3x3), and three 9's are the most magick, ie 999 or as the stupid christian fuckers misinterpreted 666. Dont believe christians they are stupid fuckers. Now im off to lay down. how is anyone a devote catholic after they put someone away for writing a book about the earths orbit around the sun. if their religion was "right" wouldnt god have told them that the earth isnt the center of the universe. and another thing how could the spanish, english etc. believe in christianity when the people of the new world never heard of it? if it was real wouldnt god have told everyone to stop worshipin the sun and get a crucifix???

Jesus is said to be the same person as: Horus,Krishna,Budha and most of all other mythical persons that different cultures speak about. Only there is a problem on the time-scale for this theory, because Horus lived in during the Egyptian ages, and most other figures, dont start poppin' up in history far later than Horus'-story...

In fact the story of Jesus/Horus, is based an astralogy.
His 12 disciples are the signs of the zodiac, his 3 day death is based on the sun, for when winter turns back to summer( on the part of the earth where it is winter offcourse) the sun will stay in one spot for 3 days, so there is less light, and then starts to rise again towards a higer position in the skies, this is when jesus rises from death.

Another thing that i forgot to mention in my last post (and im afraid its a little of topic), is why does everyone keep refering to DaVinci's painting of the last supper as if its a piece of documented evidence?? People keep refering to it in the mineutest detail saying, '' well it must be true, because its in the picture'', or ''is that a woman, perhaps there was a woman at the last supper''. Doesnt anyone realise that DaVinci lived hundreds and hundreds of years after the event supposedly happened! He didnt say to jesus, '' right hold that pose''. He painted whatever the hell he wanted. He was working purely from imagination, and lets face it complete fiction. Its not a photograph, and cannot have any factual historical evidence of jesus' time, or what supposedly happened. And anyway DaVinci didnt even paint it out of some celestial inspiration, it was a paying job and was actually comissioned by the Medicci family. They asked for that scene.
