Transdermal effect noted during weighing
swim often weighs out chemicals for his friends as well as his use. he does not use gloves and often notices a mild spacieness after handling his chems.
Swim has noted a mild feelings of tripping after dosing 2c-b, 2c-e and 4-ho-mipt. swim often gets the compounds on his hands and assumes this phenomenoen is due to transdermal absorption. He notes that the amount of powder his skin comes into contact with is quite miniscule but effects are undeniably present. Has anyone else experienced similiar findings? How readily active is it suspected that these chemicals are absorbed? Swims most notable mishap was with a decent quanity of DOI spilled on his skin. swim had many responsibilitys on that day which he soon after decided to abandon. any thoughts? |

Re: Transdermal effect noted during weighing
Swip measures out tons of chemicals and knows what you mean. Likely not transdermal absorption at all. Swip would say partly placebo and partly, and most likely cause would be small particles that float in the air and are inhaled. This is espeically easy with DOI but can easily happen with 2c-x as well. Especially if the chem is transfered from one area to another area or lightly "dumped" out of the baggie onto weighing surface. Particles float in the air and are inhaled causing slight effects... and placebo takes care of the rest.

Re: Transdermal effect noted during weighing
Swim supposes that is a viable explanation. swim will tape 5 mg's of 2c-b to his skin and report back tommorow, to either rule out or validate this theory.

Re: Transdermal effect noted during weighing
Swim placed aproximately 5 mg's on a piece of tape across the vein on his fore arm. Swim noticed a slight spacieness that could be attributed to a placebo effect. However swim also note a very interesting localized euphoria only present in the arm that the tape was placed on. Swims arm is literally tingling with pleasure, but only his one arm.
swim thinks this warrants further investigation, if any swiys would like to give it a stab swim would be interested to hear from swiys. The effects are not notable enough to insist transdermal administration is the least bit effective if at all effective for dosing. |

Re: Transdermal effect noted during weighing
Seems plausible...isn't this how Albert Hoffmann's first LSD trip supposedly happened?

Re: Transdermal effect noted during weighing
Yes, it did. The big difference is that LSD is 200x more potent than 2C-x, so even a small amount is a large dose with LSD.

Re: Transdermal effect noted during weighing
Not only that, but the LSD was suspended in methanol which will cause it to absorb through swiy's skin. If swiy put their chems in methanol or DMSO or some other solvent it will absorb through their skin ... else, it wont.
Just like LSD will NOT absorb through swiy's skin from blotter paper or even water, most rc's will not as well ... unless put into a solvent that will cause absorption. In most cases swiy should worry about the solvent entering their skin more then the chemical. |

Re: Transdermal effect noted during weighing
Get a box of dust-masks (any pharmacy) and some gloves.
