Hershey sues marijuana candy maker for trademark infringement

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Hershey is suing a Lafayette man who admitted to making marijuana-laced candy and soft drinks for trademark infringement.
Kenneth Affolter faces more than five years in prison for manufacturing forbidden treats with names like Stoney Rancher, Rasta Reese's and Keef Kat.
Each came in packaging similar to Hershey's Jolly Rancher, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Kit Kat candies.
Hershey's suit filed this month in San Jose alleges the marijuana munchies violates its trademark rights.
The company is seeking 100 thousand dollars in damages.

This is very sad, that's why I boycott them like many others have. Guess they don't realise how much profit they get from the type of person there sueing. They should actually feel honored he used there chocolate. So many differen't companies he could have used. Very disappointed of such nonsense.

Reeses is damn good, but my health is more important. Even if they don't get money, not sure if I will ever look at the company the same. So many other great candies out there, think I can spare my money going to just one more greedy bastard. It's good but when people start sueing there customers, I draw the line.

What's another $100,000 to a company as big as Hershey's? They've tried to expand their market over here, seen Hershey bars in stores recently, but I'm not a fan. Tastes like crap.
