Separating PMA from a MD* pill

How does one separate PMA from a pill that luckily contains no speed, some MD*, and definitely a bit of PMA? Will the acetonic wash method work?

Another question: since Mandelin reacts with different colors to either substance, how is it going to react to a PMA/MD* mix?

It will not happen with an acetone wash. PMA and MD(M)A, both amphetamines, will react about equally to any changes in pH, so an A/B would not work either. If SWIrikki_tikki has some glassware and a hotplate lying around then he could always separate the two through distillation. Otherwise I think it will be quite hard to figure out how to do it ghettostyle.

Maybe some multi-solvent system for separating through crystallization of one of the two substances could work, but I do not know much about which compound is soluble in what.

SWIM has intaken the pill, and has three more left. The overall effect was un-MDMA like, and SWIM done heard there might be PMA in the pill. This is indirectly confirmed by side effects (feeling very hot and sweating a whole lot, and also not the kind of empathic euphoriac high that one usually gets from MDMA). The pill overall was not bad, and not very good either. SWIM wouldn't mind sacrificing the remaining pills, hence this thread.

Regarding detection: how does Mandelin react to a PMA/MDMA mix, seeing how it is supposed to go black/purple for MDMA, and green/brown for PMA?

Regarding separation: a primitive distillery is not hard to build. How would one go about distilling the mix?

SWIM has found it very hard to determin whats in a pill JUST by the side effects and how it makes you feel.

Lots of people can get hot and sweaty from MDMA. And alot of the effect could just be placeabo do to ur current mindset.

SWIM would agree with Nagognog... if there's a high chance of PMA being in the pills, don't use them... Ones life is worth a hell of a lot more than some pills.

Out of curiosity, how does one know there is PMA in a given pill?

Not saying PMA is without downsides, but SWiM actually likes PMA. With a good scale and some pure product, he never had any problems. In commersial tabs it would be very dangerous and highly unethical, but aside from that I think PMA has been given too bad of a reputation. It's not that bad, actually quite the opposite in SWiM's opinion.

Reports of PMA effects belong in the Research Chem. forum. Regards PMA in XTC tablets - I view this is nothing less than attempted murder.
