I've been looking to get some Patron for a while. I've never had it but I have heard a lot about it, so I have some questions:

Patron Silver

-What does it averagely cost (I know its relatively expensive)?

-Does it get you drunk relatively fast (how many shots)?

-Is it worth it for the price?

Patron is tequila that doesn't taste like tequila...enabling you to take more shots with greater ease...and tequila in general? Yeah, it gets you drunk fast.

Amount of shots to get anyone drunk depends on:
-Body weight
-Tolerance
-Speed of drinking

If you're lighter, it'll take you less. If you drink within a short amount of time, it'll take you less. WARNING though -- drinking a lot in a short amount of time ("binge" drinking) usually leads to blackouts, getting sick, hangover, etc. Not to say drinking in moderation doesn't, though.

I'm sorry, i can't help you with the price though. I know it's pricey -- last time i saw it, i think it was about $90 for a half-gallon? I'm not sure about the measurement..

Yeah, I knew tequila gets you drunk quick, but I was just wondering if Patron made you get drunk super-quick as compared to other tequilas. All I've had are the low-priced tequilas.

Also, I meant does it get you drunk relatively quick as compared to your own tolerance (if that makes any sense lol). I know about the weight, tolerance, and speed factors, but I was just wondering if it will get you drunk quick. (I know, this was confusing. I don't blame you if you dont understand what I just said.) Thanks for the reply.

Patron isn't that great. Its very smooth and tasteless tequila, which is pretty much counter to why people enjoy the tequila, even if it does normally sting a bit.

Drink some expensive (though not as much as patron!) vodka if you want a smoother and tasteless alcohol.

No, it's the same as other tequilas. Not that i'd know, though

SWIM finds no difference between tequilas as far ranged as Patron vs. Jose Cuervo. It just seems like the more expensive, the better tasting/less burning.

So yes, it'll make you drunk super-quick as compared to your own tolerance, but no real noticible difference between less expensive tequilas. Other than the fact that it goes down smoother, just like i said before, enabling you to take more easier.

If SWIY is looking to get drunk fast of good tequila, Patron will work. Also, girls love it -- it's smooth. But if you want the real "tequila" experience, you can get three times the amount of tequila for cheaper, and just take it with some salt and lime. It'll be the same thing.

Ah, SWIM has had some good -- and really bad -- times with Jose and 1800...

swim thinks its around $50 for a 5th

it will get swiy drunk as fast as any other tequila of the same proof while tasting a lot better

in swims opinion yeah its worth it if swiy has the money

There is a huge difference in Price Quality and Buzz in Tequila. At the Jose Cuervo end the price, buzz and quality are all cheap. There are alkaloids from the agave plant that come across in the distillation. Just as there are alkaloids in the wormwood and other ingreadients of absinth that come across in the distillation. At the cheap end I think El Himador is way better than Jose Cuervo as is the buzz and it is only slightly more expensive. Patron is a good tequila but it tends to bee over distilled (done multiple times) and this tens to lesson the alkaloid content and the buzz that is not related to just the alcohol itself. So it is a very smooth tequila and has a good buzz it is also 50-60bucks depending on the silver verses the gold. The gold or anjo is aged longer and is smoother. But if the smoothness is what you are looking for then I would recomend Corzo (not the same as Corazon) It is about the same price as Patron but is much smoother and can actually be sipped. Patron does have a better buzz tho. I purchased a bottle of Tequila Romance (made by Milagro) it was $112 for a fifth. But it was a bottle inside a bottle with the inner tequila being the darker aged tequila and the outer was a lighter tequila, really neat bottle. It was some of the best I have tasted. But if you go to Jalisco, Mexico they have the tequila museum. By the time I was done with the tour I had tasted over 27 tequila (all 1/4 shots) and I had to stop cause I got trashed. There were still so many to try!

cuervo regular is usually regarded as the best value on tequila considering buzz taste and cost. Its a bit more expensive than some of the cheap shit, but has a a stronger tequila effect and much better taste than anything else in its price range

Patron is Delicious. it is expensive around 40 for a regular sized one. SWIM loves it because it goes down so smooth but because of that it sneaks up on you.
