LSD Aftereffects

Hi there you people who know people that do LSD but don't do themselves.

So, swim has pretty solid LSD experience by now and considers himself a psychonaut (8 LSD Trips, several LSA's (though LSA seems very similar to MDMA to him), Salvia (not anymore, not into dissoziatives much), still lacking shroom experience).

And he has quite some aftereffects now, things that persisted and are maybe good, or sometimes not that good (however, also not that bad). All over, swim wouldn't want to miss LSD in his life.

1. the HPPD (Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder):
- Blurry Lines. swim can't see straight lines really straight anymore.
It's always flickering, slightly moving. Not that annoying.
- Visual Snow. this doesnt go away at all. it's a bit like an old TV.
colorful flickering all over his his field of sight. However, swim
came to live with this, and it's only very noticable if he's focusing
- Color Shifts. swim can't see white surfaces as white anymore.
it's shifiting to slight blue, red, green, etc. noticable all the time,
but somehow, swim even likes it!

2. the psychial aftereffects, especially dream-like states:
- Lucid Dreaming, Dissoziative States (swim doesn't know). swim
will report, as a example, what just this night happened to him:
He woke up suddenly (after maybe some hours of sleep). He
could not move. he could not breath. he was totally paralyzed,
and it felt like his body wasn't there and at the same time as if
his heart stopped. he looked at the wall, and the wall was
flickering in glowing, bright white strains, they were pulsing and
looked like veins of pure energy.

in the middle of it, a colorshiftin
and winged cat (blue to green, can't really tell anymore), also
glibbery shape, flew in his very narrowed view. swim got anxious,
not knowing what was happening, but suddenly was filled with a
feeling of deep, deep peace, was incredibly clear in his head. so
clear, that he just thought.. nothing. eventually, the paralyze
left, swim turned around, closed his eyes, and incredible shapes
came to his mind, and again those flickering white veins. then
he felt asleep deeply and can't remember dreaming.
Similar things happened about 3-4 times in the last months.

- Lucid Dreaminig and Clear Dreaming:
since his more intense LSD experiences, swim is dreaming by far
more often than earlier. or, better said, he can remember every
dream he has in its full length. When he's dreaming, it's in-
credibly clear, and he can even act on his own, total control.
However, he also knows he's dreaming somehow and also not.
very strange, and feels also very... visionary. swim likes this.

so, tell you're story, or comment on swim's, and what you think about this, and is this typical LSD aftereffects? other than truly raised creativity, and somehow.. "free associating" of things all the time and having strange thoughts.

Peace, Henfer

Re: LSD Aftereffects - What's SWIY's?

SWIM has had some crazy, random thought patterns and phrases that have stuck with him to this day...Still trying to decipher them. It's almost like a false memory. You experience something in your trip, and remember it as it's a real memory. If you think of something so disturbing during a trip, it's going to be treated as a real occurence by your memory and it could be traumatic.

Re: LSD Aftereffects - What's SWIY's?

SWIM was on 2 tabs last nite and the only after effects he appears to be getting is tirdeness and a slightly dazed feeling. also eyes are lingering on certain objects.. SWIm didn't get much sleep and is a little high so that will be an influence...

any 'E' pills, or any strong amphetamine type simulant has a far worse comdown than LSD in SWIMs opinion. providing the stuffs decent the effect is far smoother and cleaner than E, and they fade more gradually, E's shoot you up then let you crash, while LSD lingers, stepping up slowly and fading away.. flashacks or HPPD seem to be the biggest risk from trips

AW: LSD Aftereffects - What's SWIY's?

yes, swim knows the meth/speed comedown pretty well. E also. etc.
what swim thinks of, is more the mid- to long term effects, swim's last trip some weeks ago now. it's also not a real comedown, as the effects don't really bother swim in his life. in fact, he misses tripping and being high as, at the moment, there's not much time for it.

Re: LSD Aftereffects - What's SWIY's?

LSD has never effected SWIM's sleep but he does experience a slightly altered state of visual perception in the couple of days directly after use. In a dark room for example, the outlines of surfaces seem a lot more defined. People's faces also seem a little different, especially people with generally disproportioned heads. This is most notable immediately after smoking cannabis. At first, these little side effects worried SWIM a bit but he's tripped on various psychedelics quite a few times now and any strange visuals such as these tend to go away after a week or so.

Re: LSD Aftereffects - What's SWIY's?

Swim was just shocked to learn that there actually is a name for this disorder. Swim experiences tracers, has hard reading a ruler because the lines tend to move about. Everything, including the corners of the walls tend to move in and out. At night, swim sees halos around lights, and swim gets panick attacks. Swim never had any of thes symptoms before doing LSD yet gets these problems 17 years later. Swim did a lot of acid, at one point swim did 26 hits of acid at one time.

Re: LSD Aftereffects - What's SWIY's?

Swim has explained over and over to psychiatrists. Dr's are too stupid. They can't figure out what to do, because they are ignorant. They just prescribe SSRI. SSRI make swim worse. When Swim tells the Dr the SSRI make swim worse, they say you will just have to tolerate. To no surprise, swim can't try SSRI for a full time (3-6 months).

AW: LSD Aftereffects - What's SWIY's?

you've got to tell the doctor that swiy did hallucinogens so he can treat it properly! And oh yeah.. what was that HPPD therapy... yeah, there's none.

you take the acid, you'll have to expect life long effects from even a one-time dosis ("never be the same again")

After Effects of LSD

SWIM was wondering about the after effects of LSD. He recently ate LSD and ever since little weird things have been happening. At work one day he was walking, and all of a sudden he felt a little light headed and almost seemed like he was floating, and a surreal feeling came over him, but that settled after a few seconds. Another thing that happened the other day while he was at work; he was sitting at his desk working on a computer, he closed his eyes for a second, and when he opened them he again got light headed and everything was just weird, not normal at all, and he sort of got the feeling like when he was coming up on LSD, but that went away after about 10 seconds. A third thing is when he focuses on something very hard (he purposly tried to do this) the objects around it sort of throbbed and moved. Everything around it almost seemed like it was growing slowly, then started to shrink back to its normal size. Is it just him? Is it just all the drugs he's taken (LSD, ecstasy, mushrooms in particular)? This isn't a bad thing, in fact, he kind of likes the fact that these things have been happening, and he wants to take even more than he took the first time (which was only 2 tabs), or even candy-flip.

Re: After Effects of LSD

So apparently there's no edit feature, so I guess I'll have to double post.

Would be edit: SWIM wants to know if this is all this just a coincidence, if not the after effects.

Re: After Effects of LSD

it could be after effects, but swim remember always having that surreal feeling every now and then regardless of taking acid; when you almost feel like you're not there, but your body keeps moving. your mind floats adrift in some odd dreamy comfort.

swim always had the ability to have my eyes play tricks on swim, it could be the magic of the mind, or it could be the magic of the drugs you've taken (or both); swim remembers when she was younger, she used to sleep with a dim lamp left on because she was afraid of the dark. she had this kewpie sort of looking doll sitting on her shelf. she used to stare at its face, and it would scare her because it would begin to look angry and evil if she stared at it for too long. perhaps it could be a lighting issue?

swim has definitely noticed some changes after her taking of psychedelics, but nothing major.

whatever it is, if you enjoy it, then proceed with it.

Well, SWIM enjoys it. Kind of reminds SWIM how he became who he is, the psychadelics he has taken throughout his life has changed him and his personality, and he wouldn't want it any other way.

LSD after effects?

Jatelka Edit: The forum's getting a little overcrowded with flamingos so here's what someone's naughty meercat has to say:

"Hey everyone. I took 2 hits of liquid LSD a few days ago, and during that time I was also smoking marijuana while tripping.

So it has been about 3 days now after tripping, and I feel very 'off'. I have no energy whatsoever and all I want to do is sleep. I have been sleeping WAY too much these past few days, but my body is always wanting to sleep. I am not sure if this has anything to do with LSD, but I didn't feel this way before taking it.

For example, I just slept for 12 hours, I woke up about an hour ago, and I'm ready to go back to sleep. This is not normal! I've done LSD and other psychedelics before and I've never had this happen.

Is this just my mind and body recovering from a somewhat intense trip? If so, will this eventually fade and I can return to normal and get my energy back?"

Last edited by Jatelka; 02-11-2007 at 06:26. Reason: meercats are almost as cool as flamingos

Re: LSD after effects?

I doubt it is completly caused by the acid. I feel like tiredness can be a mindset a lot of times. Force yourself to do some energetic activities to get your system pumping again, and eat well.

Re: LSD after effects?

yo dog dont use i use swim or ull get in trouble, but swim always feels off for a few days after a trip, but the main reason you are so tired is becasue u are sleeping to much the more you sleep the more you want to sleep believe me i went through some pretty awful depression awhile back and i would sleep all the time than i decided to not sleep so much and the tiredness went away, so just try to get the normal 8 hours of sleep a night and you will feel less tired
