swim would think so. swiy should check into how the native americans use peyote. swim would think they would go peyote hunting and/or purchase them from a farmer and keep them stored until they needed to be used. I'm sure the information is out there, one just has to be willing to invest the time in researching it, if this is important to them.

Swim has the common knowledge about the indian ways. Maybe the question wasn`t put right. Is a dead peyote plant apt for a harvest ?

It might be best to do some kind of extraction, it's usually not good to eat decomposing plant matter.
If it is only one button it's best to throw it away.
