Which Research Chemicals cause false positive results?

I've been wondering if some RCs are relatively safer to import than others.

From the point of view of customs, if they open a letter with a gram of unlabeled 2ce in it, they have no way of knowing if it's an illegal substance without drug testing it.

So how do they identify and seize packages on a regular basis? In most cases, they would assume that if it's a drug, the powder is most likely an amphetamine, an opiate, or cocaine.

Would any RCs test positive for one of those drugs?

Or if most RCs have a unique chemical signature, is it likely that customs tests every unidentified powder for the full spectrum of RC signatures too? That would seem overly uneconomical and time consuming.

Basically I'm wondering which, if any, of the RCs would be the hardest for customs to identify as a drug. Most people who order an RC experience some degree of stress about customs, therefore the less stress involved the better.

I suppose if it were 2ce it would test as a phenethylamine which would therefore arise suspicion since it's an analogue. However this is only if they did indeed open the package and test it, however the worst that will happen is they'll confiscate items and send you a letter to claim your items...and ofcourse you don't respond back.

Re: Which RC's cause false positive results?

Is testing for phenethylamine part of the standard battery of tests then?

Re: Which RC's cause false positive results?

white powder, on white paper, with a white envelope. Swim doubts customs would take there time with a flat letter that shows nothing suspicious on a scan. Swim thinks it would be far to expensive for customs to test smaller packages, and thinks they would only take the time if it was 100 grams to a killogram of something suspicious looking. Also at least in the states, even if your package does get confiscated, you won't really get in trouble. Swim thinks swiy should look into discreet packaging. I think customs might use drug dogs too... I don't know if they have on staff chemists.

SWIM laughs when he sees this sentence, what with all the things going on in America the past decade. Who's to say that they think its a recreational drug? If a powdery white substance doesn't test positive for known drugs, would they not assume the worst?

Re: Which Research Chemicals cause false positive results?

I seriously doubt they'd test for most RC's. My best guess would be that the few seizures that have happened are due to labels on the packaging of the substances themselves, and not tests carried out by customs.

Re: Which Research Chemicals cause false positive results?

I know for sure that the danish police has got and makes daily use of a so called "chemical multi-scanning device" that in a few seconds can scan any perceptible traces of any substance, compare it against a database of thousands of illegal substances by identifying the appropriated chemical markings and then give lawyers a pretty hard time in court with the printouts of that infernal machine.
A U.S. patent of course.
Watch out guys, the ennemy is everywhere.
