Suboxone Q

Can SWIM get a difinative answer on having to be in withdrawl before using Suboxone? Is it a must? SWIM hears that it will put SWIY into withdrawl in which there is no turning back. So that would mean SWIM needs to wait a few days until he's feeling shitty before dosing?
