Dont know if anyone mentioned them but Alice In Chains. Good for pot, acid, and DXM, maybe others. The Jar of Flies album is the best one to listen to.

It depends what state of mind you are in I suppose.

I like the chilled and mellow stuff, and I think you can't get any better than this album:

Amorphous Androgynous - Tales Of Ephidrina (Future Sound Of London under another name) - awesome, especially the track 'Mountain Goat'.

Love a lot of Orbitals work, esp Belfast, Halcyon On + On, Chime, LC2. Also Aphex Twin has done some very nice stuff, his track 'Rhubarb' on SAWII is very pure and gorgeous, as is a lot of Spooky's work (Gargantuan being a top album) head for 'Little Bullet Part 1'.

There's so much more, I could go on for hours about the nicest of the nice music, and bore you all riged hehe.

Grey Matter - Sonic Textures works quite well as an album heh heh I would say that though, as I wrote it

Anything melodic for me. I mainly listen to instrumental songs when i'm high. That way you kind of "ride the tunes" without any vocals in the way.

Or anything Led Zeppelin.

hi! i had to register and post a response to this one cause i love music ^^ anyway i like listening to classic rock the most. i mean its so layed back and it makes me feel like imin the 70's even though i wasnt alive then :P Incubus is a great band to listen to as well. they have so many weird sound effects and great music too. Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Doors, anything classic. oh and Radiohead's another great one. i love watchingthe How The West Was Won DVD too. Watching Zeppelin live is amazing.

Anything by Pink Floyd is trip worthy. Specially the albums that where
written during the Syd Barret Era, or right after. You should try and
get started with such albums as Meddle, Animals, Dark side of the Moon,
Live at Pompeii.

You shouldn't venture into Ummagumma unless you've got a well developed taste for music, it's a little hard to diggest.

Other stuff I'll recomend could be

Infected Mushroom [psychadelic trance, hard-fast-electronica], Burning Spear [good old roots reggea],

Israel Vibration [Dub Reggea - Reggea, just slower... real nice],

Busta Rhymes [Rap],

Thelonious Monk [Bepop piano, a kind of jazz - specially good when in duet with miles davis],

Static X [real nice, real hard metal],

Kruder and Dorfmeizter/Massive Attack [trip hop, really smooth
listening music a combination of black rhythms and light electronica],

Beethoven/Tchaikovsky/Rachmaninov [gotta love the classics],

Office of Strategic Influence [nice proggresive rock]

Jimmy Hendrix [how many guys can claim they invented modern rock?]

I could go on for a while, but I'll let you check this ones out first.

For relaxing anytime, stoned or not, i love Zero 7 as someone mentioned much further up.

For tripping out, i found Muse to really send me into a state of awe. I think any band/song that holds great emotional relevance to you is good for exploring yourself(so tripping ^_^), and for me, Muse are just this. Would love to see Muse live on shrooms!
