Hhhmmm... I've never heard about this one before. Where can I read (technical details) about it? How large is it? I assume it’s a low level program, but if it’s rather large could SWIY upload it to me once I'm on broadband again, which should be in a couple of days.

Would NCASE work on macosx or do they use a different program for macs? Swim uses his mac every do often, but would like to run a program similar to NCASE just to see what can be found.

Boy, I'll tell ya. It is amazing what the computer guys the Police employ can do. And I'm talking about local small town cops. Importing stuff? Well thats the jurisdiction of the Fed Govt. I cant imagine what the guys they have working for them can do.

I delete any interesting stuff with some special program. No-one of them is bullet-proof, but it takes some serious job from FBI geeks to get out stuff from hard drive that has been erased with some of the most effective file erasure methods. I also crypt files that I wan't to save with blowfish or similar. I think that's bullet-proof method and they really can't get their hands on that stuff without the password.

The only method that SWIM trusts (and this isn't even fool-proof) is one SWIM employed when he was making these little platic things with your picture on them that lets minors get into bars. SWIM took four days coiling copper wiring around a solid steel cylinder, connected to an internal power source, creating a very strong electromagnet with an instant on switch. SWIM had to use it while living in college dorms and heard that a few kids got caught with those little plastic things and may have run their mouths (turns out they didn't), knocked out laptop, ipod, alarm clock immediately. When university police came in all they said was "we smelled weed from outside the door" swim was pissed, and got a dorm write-up (luckily nothing criminal for a small sack sitting out)

What a bleeding nightmare man.
Stories like this one really make me thank God for not having being born american. One really wonders why they want to waste U.S. taxpayers money in these bullshit. I have never heard of anybody being prosecuted in Europe for buying something on the net, and I know for sure that the practice is pretty widespread. Has anybody heard of something like that happening in our decrepit continent? Now some question for TazBeBad, to whom goes my sincerely felt sympathy: 1) You said that you got your medications after an on-line consultation; are´nt you free to choose your own doc? What if you claim that you knew that doc and he enjoys your trust? 2) I can´t belive my eyes . What do you mean by "being indicted on moral grounds"? Is it Illinois or Iran where you are being tried? I simply refuse to belive that anybody in the US could be charged because of the internet sites he visited or the posts he made in any forum. What about the first emendement? What about freedom of information and expression? What did your lawyer say about those fears you had? Keep us informed TazBeBad , I am very intrested in knowing how your story develops. VV. ...In Canada, as by the Canada Post Corporation act the postal corporation is not allowed to open letters (not parcels) at all and search them, so long as they do not come in from outside the country. (http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/C-10/22...tml#Section-41)
So, in Canada, if one sends say, a letter from British Columbia to Ontario, the Canada Post corporation cannot legally open it. If SWIM was running a business and did not want it's shipments to be opened (solely out of respect for the customer's person), SWIM would place the contents in multiple small letter-sized envelopes and use the regular post office. For example, if someone wanted to send a small token of sugar, flour or sprinkles to a loved one across the country s/he would be able to do so without any legal interference whatsoever. Probably, these letters would never get opened by any nosy people if they got sent almost anywhere in the world. |

Re: home searched due to mail orders
^^^ No, because that would be illegal.
BTW, the first post in this thread is over 2 years old, the most recent was 5 months - old posts have much in common with sleeping dogs..... However - kudos if you found it using the search engine! |

Re: home searched due to mail orders
SWIM searched for online pharmacies to purchase extra drugs, and each time at the top of the search results (on google) there was a huge warning from the DEA and FBI. This stated that it is illegal to purchase medication online and that if you do, you can be arrested. SWIM deeply investigated different mail order companies and never found one that was helpful. It was a waste of SWIM's time and since SWIM already is prescribed pain meds as a result of major health problems, it wasn't worth the trouble. People are definitely placing themselves in danger with the government by purchasing drugs online. I have to say that this is the best way to force the government to take a dna sample...which you really want to aviod these days. Also,

Re: home searched due to mail orders
Whoops, I'm sorry, I wasn't done.
I wanted to mention that as far as being tracked and searched etc. I have the newest version of Mcafee and it blocks every unwanted attempt to connect with my computer. Many of these invasions attempt to track keystrokes and map internet addresses. The scary thing is that when I track the IP addresses of these attempts, Mcafee shows you where in the world map these programs are coming from. Many are trying to connect from WASHINGTON DC. That's gotta tell you something. |

Re: home searched due to mail orders
You're just not looking at it the right way. The US economy sucks, and being good at observing the success of others, who draws the eyes but China. Any why is China a world industrial leader? Cheap labor.
So, you do a good deed all around. Arrest drug users so they can be rehabilitated in Inpatient drug treatment Work camps, and cure their addiction in the process, making them compliant members of society. Economic and social problems solved in one swoop. |

So maybe burning the HD isn't such a hot idea (koff). How about a 500,000 volt stun-gun applied to each side of the HD? |

Re: home searched due to mail orders
Maybe we need to just drop it into a vat of acid huh? I have to say that I've become more and more paranoid lately. It has nothing to do with drugs either. I was engaged to a carrer Army intelligence officer. He works for NSA and when he felt comfortable, he told me he's the French connection. All day long he listens to communications coming from different government and civilian transmissions...anyway...they have a ton of people just "listening" to everyone everywhere. So, you can either not care and go on talking on the phone and online, saying whatever you want...or be scared and destroy everything. You know, our cell phones have gps now...whether we want it or not...unless you have an ancient phone. They can find anyone anywhere within two square feet of where you are. I need to move overseas.

Re: home searched due to mail orders
Uck... this thread has had SWIM scrubbing his hard drive lately... pretty much every time he sees it, he feels like doing some cleaning...
![]() Why, is someone forcing you to use a cell phone? Last time I looked, there are still some pay phones around. Use them instead. SWIM has never owned a cell phone and doesn't feel like he's missing anything (although admittedly he's been out of work for awhile). |

Re: home searched due to mail orders
P.S. this thread + some recent events has been giving SWIM a paranoid feeling... he had a package interdicted by U.S. customs a month or two ago (long story). That plus a more recent non-receipt of product has SWIM worried his name might be on a list now somewhere. Guess he'll find out sooner or later
.

Re: home searched due to mail orders
I dont want to alarm anyone, and i'm probably stating the obvious, but if you and I have found this site then hasn't everybody else? Including Ellie? Using the mail doesn't make much sense to me but I don't think that posting here does either. My point is that everyone posting here probably has files on them... they probably even know which hand you... you know... acheive self gratification with. I know how to beat them though. I don't use my hands I dry hump the matress.

i know a fool proof way to erase data from CD / DVD's, place in microwave shiny side up and heat on high for 30 seconds fun 2 watch as well. Perhaps this could be applied to hard disks? that or using a magnit to clean it

Even if one was to destroy/hide the drive, there would still be the swap file in the RAM, data in the gfz card DDR cache, and a few other sneaky locations. One can never be fully sure that data is ir-recoverable unless the entire computer is gone. ![]() On a side note, look at the things that were pulled off right in plain sight without getting noticed until buildings fell. There wasn't too much secrecy going on in that objective... |
