Am i addicted to Ketamine?

Well ive never done anything like this before but lets give this a try.

Im trying to work out if im addicted or not,on ketamine,i do quite alot of it probaly around 3 g's every 2 days,i can go a day or two without it but as soon as i start thinking about it,i crave it big time.

Im spending alot of money on it,and therefore sinking my self further into debt,i keep telling my self that im going to sort it out and not do it for awhile, but after a day or two i just end up going back to it.

Im not sure if its just cause im young (19) and just haveing a good time,or if i really have got a problem.

any help would be much appericated

Thanks

Re: Am i addicted??

crap just got rid of it before coping and pasting, but it said pretty much what i thought, theres no real addictiong there but it could be present in the future,it kinda says the same how i thought,im young, and just enjoying myself at the present time, good job, good friends, and i guess my lifes in no real danger, maybe if i just cut down a bit to a few in the week and when i go out clubbing at the weekends

It's not because Swiy is not severely addicted, that he doesn't have a problem.

Re: Am i addicted??

Okay.

If Swiy is getting into debt, that is a problem in Swim's honest opinion. Doesn't matter what Swiy spends his money on. It may be drugs, clubbing, or buying shoes. Doesn't matter. Getting into debt is very easy, getting out of it is not.

It may be wise to try and stop using K for a while. The fact that Swiy wonders whether he's addicted or not, shows that he already (maybe subconsciously) knows there is a problem.

It should not take Swiy's life to be in real danger, as Swiy said, to acknowledge something is wrong.
Addiction is something that sneaks up on you. It may be wise, to try and prevent that.

i'm afraid it sounds like the onset of an addicion mate, try filling in thre time when you get the cravings:gym, long walks, quality time with loved onesetc

Re: Am i addicted??

It sounds like you're uncomfortable with the amount of ketamine you're doing and you continue to do it, giving in to the cravings. That is the definition of addiction. Lucky for you it's ketamine and not heroin or cocaine, so try to stay away and smoke a lot of weed in the meanwhile. Give it a couple of weeks and you'll be fine as long as you abstain. I know it's easier said than done but you'll be glad you did it.

Re: Am i addicted??

Swim once found himself asking the same question, week after week, month after month till swim realised that the reason he isnt an addict and not going to be an addict is because he doesnt want to do it anymore becuase its not fun asking yourself these questions and not being in control becuase swim was alwys better than that and was just a 19 year old having fun but also smart enough to realise he aint gonna become one of those 19 year olds. Swim never really answered the question I guess you could just say he just made sure he didnt become one of those 19 year olds.

Re: Am i addicted??

Generally one of the first signs of addiction is, ironically, asking yourself if you are addicted. The addiction calculator can be helpful, but is not the be all and end all of whether you are addicted. As a former professional in this field I'd say it is at least an early stage addiction. Treating one addiction by using another mind or mood altering substance is not usually good advice, so I wouldn't suggest "smoking a lot of weed". The important thing here is you are thinking it's a problem and going in debt for it. I will grant that smoking weed usually isn't that big of a deal, but what if you decided to start doing heroin or mehamphetamine to overcome K? It doesn't make a lot of sense since most likely if you are the addictive type there is a good chance you could end up with an even worse addiction. Addiction is very difficult for some people to overcome, but if you could do it now you could be learning a very hard lesson the easy way.

Re: Am i addicted??

Im spending alot of money on it,and therefore sinking my self further into debt

the simple rule in life is never get into debt.
This can't always be followed for practical reasons , what can be followed though is never get into debt over drugs unless they are medicinal and keeping you healthy no drug should be purchased on borrowed money and no money should be lent to purchase drugs

i keep telling my self that im going to sort it out
Don't keep telling yourself, Tell everyone around you that you "HAVE" (not present tense) already sorted it out and that you will not do it again untill you are out of debt. Don't underestimate the strength of not wanting to disapoint people if you have gone out on a limb and told everyone that you have stoped and that you won't do it again until you are out of debt you will find yourself behaving that way, and feeling proud of yourself for doing so.
