GHB Kits of the past...

What ever happened to those GHB kits that you could just order and whip together with ease a product that to SWIM seemed to be pretty damned pure. I mean, SWIM always told me it it tasted like a mouth full of ocean water... and no matter what you mixxed it with, you could not mask that intensely salty taste. Those really weren't banned until 2003? SWIM always told me that the kits came with 2 pre-measured bottles, NaOH and Gamma butrylactone which SWIM mixxed together and then performed some routine ph tests with litmus paper provided, to make sure it was neutral. So, when exactly did those get banned? SWIM always said that stuff was so salty flavored that he could never understand how it got labeled as a date-rate drug as your gonna notice if you take a drink of your beer and it tastes like someone dumped a shaker full of salt into it.

hmmm... I looked it up and the first thing that the second heading referred to it as a date rate drug. If only we could sue our own govenment for making false slanderous statements. SWIM could be mistaken as the article he read on the operation pointed to by SWIMrG, mentioned GHB, GBL, and its ananlogs 1,4 Butanediol (1,4 BD) but SWIM definitely doesn't see GHB as something that could slipped into a females without them reacting to "WTF dumped a salt shaker in my drink!"... thinking someome had played a joke on them. SWIM cannot speak of GBL and 1,4 BD as he knows nothing about then and whether or not they could be slipted into someone's drink unkowingly..

As for GBL it tastes awful so probably not. SWIM imagines 1,4 would be the same way.

I don't understand why people think date rape can't occur with GHB. Here's just one plausible scenario:

Boy gives girl GHB - says "take this, makes you feel good." Boy gives girl a heavy dose, because she doesn't know what a dose is. Girl passes out, gets raped.

It's pretty simple. I'm not trying to be alarmist, nor to say anything negative about GHB, nor to say this happens often. I'm just tired of reading "GHB tastes salty, you can't date rape someone with it."

SWIM is sorry about the link, he didn't realize it was a bad thing at first.

Being a computer science major though after SWIM thought about it, he does realize now why we wouldn't want that link on there... for the same reason as SWIM was able to find it so easily in the first place. Is SWIM correct in his assumption as to why it was removed?

SWIM agrees with everything that SWIR says, however he just thinks that GHB gets WAY more than it's share of negative publicity by being called a date rape drug. When commenting about the extreme salty flavor, SWIM just means that, that would be a lot harder to give to a totally unsuspecting victim, as opposed to slipping a ruffie into someones drink.
