Amphetamine Crisis

SWIM is an occassional amphetamine sulphate user , and was formerly a weekly user . SWIM never considered Amphetamine to be their drug of choice ( cocaine and ecstasy are ) but SWIM does enjoy a bomb of sulphate with friends and have a massive chat all night long . but one problem arrises everytime SWIM takes it . SWIM will feel on top of the world for a while then will suddenly have feelings of nausea . SWIM has never actually vomited but has began to gag . usually its just nausea which causes SWIM to get spaced out as SWIM isn't very keen on vomiting .
SWIM has tried eating a lot before taking it , tried not eating much , drinking a lot of water , drinking little amounts of water or juices but nothing ever seems to avoid the nausea which ruins the night as SWIM goes on a downer everytime the nausea kicks in .

Help out SWIM please someone ???

Possible Causes for nausea after taking amphetamines:
(There are undoubtedly many more, but this is swims list of possibilities)

• Withdrawal symptom: As the drug leaves your system your body may show signs of withdrawal, it is the bodys way of telling the mind that it wants/needs more. Nausea is a common withdrawal symptom.

• Overdose symptom: When too much amphetamine has been consumed in a short period of time your body may tell you this by trying to excrete the amphetamine faster that usual. Throwing up and sweating are two examples of your body getting rid of excess amphetamine.

• Physiological side affect: Nausea is a common physiological affect of amphetamine use. This is your thoughts and feelings showing themselves in a physical way. Sometimes a relaxed environment can lessen the physiological side effects.

• Allergy: It is possible that SWIY is allergic to amphetamines or something they are cut with.

• Other drug or medication interactions: Mixing amphetamine with other drugs, alcohol or prescription medication can cause negative drug interactions. This does not only include what SWIY took at the same time as the amphetamine, but also during the days or week leading up to it as drugs and medications have varied half lifes.

• Physical side effect: One physical side effect when using amphetamine is the muscles surrounding your stomach can start cramping, which in turn can affect the digestive system and cause an upset stomach.

OTC nausea treatments like pepto bismal & antihistamines may help.

Amphetamines tend to increase stomach acid, at times dramatically.

Is SWIY up to date on treatments for acid reflux disease? Go get some. Either the immediate acting kind, or the one that takes a few days to 'kick in' (or both).

this phenomenon and the fact, that the adrenaline-spike will cause the blood flow to the stomach to be reduced to the absolute minimum.. anyway, when swim was doing speed a long time ago on a more excessive basis, he took some of the acid-quenchers you get in the pharmacy for oesophageal reflux -as indicated by enigam- (usually something on alumina basis) and everything was just fine.

Thanks very much . SWIM has possibly worked out the problem . It seems SWIM's phet had been mixed with something nasty , as SWIM found a better dealer and now has no problems no matter how much is taken and amazingly , no comedown 3nights in a row !! Thanks guys .

Ahhh. Such is the risk with so-called 'street' drugs. SWIM tries to avoid this category of substances in general, but if/when he doesn't a high level of caution is called for (test strips, kits and related chemicals are mighty handy things to have around).

SWIM does not think people pay anywhere near enough attention to being cautious in this area; perhaps they feel 'not to think about it' is better. In SWIM's opinion, this is the absolutely most dangerous attitude a human being can ever assume. It is akin to opening one's shirt, closing eyes tightly and shouting "I am ready for the sword -- thrust NOW!" Not that SWIY has done this; SWIM is talking general-case. When someone "prefers not to think about it" in some critical area such as ingested substances, it's time to write a will and make final preparations for death.

Strange that SWIY posted of their problem with amphetamines only 9 hours before the above post which talks about having "no comedown 3 nights in a row!!" But good to see you found the answer anyway.

that SWIM wasnt me in the last sentence , swim's friend has been doing it 3nights in a row and said no comedowns , so swim and co. have all switched dealers as swim's friend says the reason swim's stomach is so bad after phet is because of the stuff mixed with the phet and this new stuff is much purer . and now it is tried and tested by swim and its true , no illness or comedown !
