How will smoking affect SWIM's sickness

Swim is very sick... he has a big head ache, muscle pain, and a temperature of 102.5. Swims friend has taken one dose of keflex (an antibiotic similar to penicillin) and one dose of acetaminophen (same as tylenol).

Swim was wondering: How will cannabis affect these symptoms? Will it make him feel better? Also, is it ok to mix with those particular medicines? (I'm 99% sure it is ok to mix, but i might as well ask)

Re: How will smoking affect SWIM's sickness

would think would make swiy feel better.

main problems is the smoke one would think, the thc in and of itself would probably make swiy feel better, but smoke is irritating to the lungs, and probably elsewhere too.

would think maybe after swiy is coming off his high the headache might worson tho, as sometime swim would get headaches when coming off high when he was "healthy"

does swiy know why he is sick? me thinks swiy should go to a doctor.

Re: How will smoking affect SWIM's sickness

It might ease it slightly, however thc also lowers the immune system response so in someways it might take it longer for swiy to recover. If your head ache is really bad it might help or might not even notice, be best to wait until swiy recovers.

Re: How will smoking affect SWIM's sickness

It could make SWiY feel worse, it may provide a bit of welcome relief from feeling like crap (even if it's just another flavour of crap!). Who knows? All that can be said with certainty is it won't kill SWiYa!

Generally speaking all drugs other than those prescribed or medically recommended should be avoided when ill. No point in risking lowering one's immune system even more, eh? Also, with a temperature that high, things should be trippy enough without psychoactives on top, & Ojos's point about the headache is worth taking into consideration,

That said, there are no known interactions between cannabis & the medicines SWiY are taking.

Because why? What benefit would smoking cannabis have t the posters symptoms?

Paracetomol (acetominophen) would be of more benefit, being an analgesic, & also known to lower temperature. Would cannabis have this effect?

Nothing wrong with taking paracetamol, as well. Do you not know about medical marijuana? Cannabis is well known for its ability to distance people from pain.

Drugs affect everyone different. Swim would say that cannabis definitely does not distance him from pain. If anything, with certain types of pain cannabis makes things worse as he can feel things more. Plus you have to account for the different cannabinods present in cannabis in various ratios that could produce differing effects for the same person. Not enough is known about which cannabinoids have tendencies to produce certain effects.

Be sure to keep this in mind when giving advice as to effects, especially on topics like so. People should be free to go ahead and try cannabis to see if it works for this purpose, but they should have secondary courses of action (especially ones that are much more consistent in how they affect people than cannabis) ready in case it doesn't work.

Deep pain and illness are completely different chemical reactions and aren't really comparable.
SWIM usually tokes when he's ill, might as well, it's a day off work and he's not going anywhere. Plus it tends to put swim straight to sleep for a long periods, also good when ill.

Re: How will smoking affect SWIM's sickness

no it would not but it would have the psychological calmness which could serve as a distraction from the psychical elements of whats effecting. depending on individual of course. weed is not always a good thing when everyone is unwell. Personelly when swia was really bad with the flu, her usal smoke had no effect due to the heavy headedness of her flu so it not good on all accounts but in somecases can be useful. You may as well have a drunk ask "can i drink, if i have a stomach upset.". catch the drift?

Re: How will smoking affect SWIM's sickness

(had a much longer post but stupid browser mucked up)

Swim has helped headaches by smoking cannabis before, but he wouldn't want to smoke it while sick like that. Your sensory input is more pronoucned, so you will just notice the muscle pain more (kava is better to help with that problem) and swim can tell you it doesnt go well with a high temperature.

There is no problem mixing cannabis with the drugs swiy has taken, but the real questions is whether swiy really wants to combine cannabis with his sickness. Its probably a better idea not to until swiy is better.

If swiy has a cough or bronchitis/pneumonia, along with a fever and muscle pain, swim would suggest that swiy try chicken soup instead of smoking weed.
