Why do Hydros make some people sick?

SWIM has had some bad experiences with hydros. The first time SWIM tried hydros was in high school; SWIM took 3 pills and then passed out. The next morning SWIM felt like he had the worst hangover of his life. SWIM had a headache, everything felt like it was spinning, nausea --> this lasted for three days, which SWIM spent in bed, it felt like the flu.

Anyways, now if SWIM is in pain, SWIM is careful and takes half ona hydro, and prays that SWIM doesn't get sick and throw up. So. . . . what's the deal? Why does this happen. SWIM's friend who's female and weighs no more than 100 lbs takes hydros all the time (she just starter), takes them 2 or 3 at a time, smokes pot or also drinks, and NEVER gets sick. So why does SWIM get sick? This is really starting to piss SWIM off.

Everyone is difference in terms of nausea associated with opiates in general. tolerance also matters to nausea maybe after a couple more times it should pass as gradually your body will accustoms to them. However if your stomach is full before the hydros are taken then possibly that can add if your passing out that means too many are being taken.

Does swiy know if the hydros were just hydrocodone, or if they were one with APAP as well. If swiy n friends too a bunch the APAP could contribute greatly to nausea.

True - SWIM has always had a problem with Hydrocodone and APAP - same reason SWIM does not take Tylenol for headaches.

SWIM believes that the brands Hycodan and Tussigon have homatropine added to the hydrocodone to discourage intentional overdosing for recreational use.
Perhaps some generics have this added as well; SWIM doesn't know. SWIM knows afoaf who got some of the Hycodan and had no idea about the homatropine angle, and got VERY sick for SWIM's trouble.

it "makes some people sick" because its an opiate agonist, and there are opiate receptors in every part of the human body, including the stomach.
