"Sort of like Ketamine"

I've heard of newer anesthetics, which are "like ketamine", but not that chemical.

I read about it on a erowid.com or something like that. Unfortunately, I lost the URL.

And the name.

Anyone got an idea what newer "K-like drugs" might be called?

They use them in vets, for what it's worth. More powerful versions of K.

Re: "Sort of like Ketamine"

The most famous relative of ketamine is PCP (the notorious 'Angel Dust'), which predates it.

Newer ketamine analogues include MK-801 and tiletamine.

None of them sound anything like as much fun as ketamine, but are perhaps more powerful. What would you hope for from a more powerful general anesthetic?

Are you sure someone didn't dream this up while in the K-Hole?

Tilemine perhaps? Not stronger but "sort of like" ketamine.

Re: "Sort of like Ketamine"

Or tiletamine! Finally spelt it correctly! That does appear to last longer than ketamine but it doesn't sound great.

Quote:
I feel sorry for the poor apes who get a load of tiletamine! such treatment is nothing short of animal abuse in my opinion. This is one case where a compound has been deemed 'not for human consumption' for good reason.
Than again, another person spent 3 months on it, according to Erowid.

Re: "Sort of like Ketamine"

My father, a physician mentioned something the other day about a new class of anaesthetic agents being developed that produce intense muscle relaxation and numbness while still allowing the user to remain conciounse. So one could theoritically take this stuff and watch his own surgery. Unfortunately I couldnt find any reference, but Ill ask him about it the next time I talk to him.

Re: "Sort of like Ketamine"

well damn! if mk-801, and or tiletamine becomes a easier alternative for vets,
perhaps it will make it even harder to obtain ketamine!

Re: "Sort of like Ketamine"

In the above post Nootropic goes through (in 2 languages tho) the synthesis of ketamine and its little known analogue MPCH. The analogue is apparently 2times as potent just by leaving off the chlorine atom. It evens says you can potentially make it 4 times as potent by placing an ethyl group where the nitrogen is. SWIM can't read the MPCH synth and does not know if he was successful or if Nootropic was able to comment on his experience with the substance after synth. Has anyone else have any info on this or experience with the molecule in question. A simpler analogue of ket with only carbon, hydrogen, and osygen making up the structure that is 4 times as powerful as ketamine sounds too good to be true.

Re: "Sort of like Ketamine"

Tiletamine sounds awful! Dissociative anaesthetics really interest Swim but this one doesn't even seem worth thinking about.
