drugs for concentration?

hi,
im searching for anything who improves your concentration or/and the capability to access your memories.

Even if the effect holds on only for some minutes.

Smart ginkgo andNeuroboost are supplements that work well.

Piracetam, vasopressin and hydergine are smartdrugs that should improve cognitive capabilities. I've tried them all, but am not sure about their effectiveness.

I have experimented with smartdrugs too.

Do a google on "nootropics" as they're often called and see what you find, it's pretty interesting.

vasopressin is a hormone that influences your bladder, and kids are precribed it for bedwetting. It WILL definitely make you much sharper and alert and able to access memory. Especially good if you want to actually accelearte your learning, i.e. commit sth to memory. But I don't like having fluid retention... definitely not recommended before going out and drinking beer, because you just cannot piss if you did too many whiffs.

piracetam is meant to work well together with hydergine, but i haven't felt too well on either. piracetam makes me a bit tense and irritable/headachy especially in conjunction w/ alcohol, while hydergine totally blocks my nose.

Another one, adrafanil, however, I find pretty effective. Good for work + play, and pretty subtle. Worked well for me for both concentration and memory enhancement.

I also found vinpocetine pretty effective, though best not taken in conjunction with ginkgo biloba (both help imporve circulation, and I felt a bit ligh-headed when I used both together - low blood pressure?).

Then there's centrophenoxine, which I find also works well for the puroses you stated. Well effective, and even more so if taken in conjunction with choline.

Diet-wise, what may help is lots of cold pressed oils with omega 3/6/9 fatty acids - over time this will enhance cognition. As will a good dose of lecithin (choline precursor).

Oh, and the Nort-African drug Khat (catha edulis, I think) - which is a social lubricant and sort of euphoria-inducing and stimulating (used there like coffee is here) could also help. As may green tea, maté tea, or guarana...

Thanks for the answers.

Yet i have only tested Higher Mind and Lecithin.
Higher Mind is a mix of a lot of vitamin c, Ginkgo Extract, DMAE, GABA, Vinpocetine and some other stuff.
I had good effects with Higher Mind (with higher dosage-4tabs/day). But for a daily use it's a little bit expensive.

A good dose of lecithin?
About how much is a good dose?
I tested lecithin too (2000mg/day (4tabs)), but got no effects.

Someone who has expirience with SAMe?

Cool Re: drugs for concentration?

Hi ,
I am new to this forum .
I tried many different smart drugs and best of all for me is a mix of Piracetam and Centrophenoxine. I am taking a daily dose of bulk powder (less expensive) 2 to 4 g Piracetam and 500 to 1000 mg Centrophenoxine divided in two doses. This is a very effective mix, if you need to be concentrate and focus all day long, also I cut my need of sleep of 2 to 3 hours/night. Centrophenoxine increase alertness and produce stimulation effect.

Re: drugs for concentration?

In terms of increasing concentration, adhd meds always help me. Aderral helped me concentrate to the point where i lost all sense of my surroundings. My high test and class grades could not be possible without the meds.

I agree amphetamines work best(I'm prescribed dexedrine), but this thread is about nootropics, not amphetamines.

Evidence at least that the vasodilation associated with hydergine is taking place

Re: drugs for concentration?

Zen meditation, learning to relax, and a few weeks of piracetam works. In short notice, if you have performance anxiety (as many do) - low dose of a beta-blocker.

The problem found by many with amphetamine (and relatives) is the genius one exhibits wears off with the drug. If invited to, the next day, discuss further points with your professor (and you don't have any more amphet. or derivatives) - you look like a jackass.

Re: drugs for concentration?

Piracetam is the most effective nootropic my Panda has found so far for memory and concentration purposes (especially when supplemented by choline and caffeine), though admittedly he hasn't tried a large variety.
