Re: Worst anti-weed propaganda you've heard
Everytime swim sees a commercial advertising alcohol and how wonderful it is this makes him even more pissed about all the anti marijuana/anti drug propaganda.Yes a poison that causes acute liver failure is sooo wonderful and makes you popular with the ladies but a herb that makes you learn to think and learn to be an individual makes you stupid and lazy according to the idiots in charge.Ever since that moronic, alcoholic, cocksucking excuse for a president Nixon said those words"A war on drugs"the stupidity has just grown by leaps and bounds.

Re: Worst anti-weed propaganda you've heard
We don't really get it that bad in this country, Budgie thinks the newspapers are the worst...like a certain tabloid that always calls weed 'Super Deadly Skunk Weed', and always says that people that smoke generally have to steal to support their 'habits'. Budgie's also seen quite a few times, weed being implicated in things like murders..
'Woman dies after Axe murderer gets high on deadly skunk weed!!' England doesn't really have tv commercials like that (not ones that budgie can remember anyway), but we have a hell of a lot of anti-alcohol ones showing people dead in crushed up cars and the like. |

Re: Worst anti-weed propaganda you've heard
Swim isn't sure if he should be disgusted with the UK or congratulate them, actually it's a little of both.On the positive he is glad the UK shows that alcohol is just as dangerous if not more than most illegal drugs. On the negative side even most the ridiculous drug propaganda in the US doesn't say things about "People having to steal to support their weed habit."On that hand swim is pretty disgusted, swim always thought the UK was more sensible and tolerant when it came to things like that but lately he has been finding out he is very wrong.

Re: Worst anti-weed propaganda you've heard
The British Government don't know whether they're coming or going, imho..on one hand, they downgrade weed to class c instead of b. A couple of months later, they're saying that they may of made a mistake and shall try to upgrade it again. Morons. One step forward, two steps back. Talk about sending out the wrong message...
The 'stealing' comments only come from a few well known newspapers, not the actual government. |

Re: Worst anti-weed propaganda you've heard
Abovetheinfluence.com
"Smoking marijuana also causes some changes in the brain similar to those caused by long-term use of cocaine and heroin." "Health problems associated with using marijuana can keep students from attending school due to illness." "THC is the chemical that causes some smokers to develop tolerence to it's effects and crave more of the drugs, leading to addiction." LMAO!! Is this what America will be lowered to forever, making clearly irrational and false statements of something that in fact IS completely harmless?! |

How can they, in all consciousness, call these statements "drug facts"?

"Smoking marijuana also causes some changes in the brain similar to those caused by long-term use of cocaine and heroin." They used 'scarier' drugs as a deterrent by saying causes SOME changes SIMILAR to those caused by LONG-TERM use, but of course those small little literary fallbacks go completely ignored by COCAINE, BRAIN, HEROIN! They have similar effects because they're all used to alter brain chemistry in some way or another, yes, but what it fails to mention (Completely innocently I'm sure) is what the changes are, the extent of the changes, the reason for the changes, and that the same thing happens with Caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, OTC medicines, doctor prescribed medicines...etc etc etc. "Health problems associated with using marijuana can keep students from attending school due to illness." There's a big one, "Can" and "Associated with"... so basically, there is a remote possibility you could get sick as well as smoke pot, and you might miss school because of it. While it's true smoking anything can accent illnesses, this little blurt is trying to make "Associated" synonymic to "Caused by," and it works, cause the average person who even listens to this stuff at all is a moron. "THC is the chemical that causes some smokers to develop tolerence to it's effects and crave more of the drugs, leading to addiction." I gotta admit, that one made me laugh. Not only did it add in "Some smokers" to give them some deniability, but they used 'addiction' as a scare tactic. But what made me laugh was the overall message of it. Use builds up tolerance, nevermind the fact that that is the case with everything from drinking water to bodybuilding, they used the word Addiction! And THC! Oh no! Tolerance! AAHHHHHH!! Those people make me laugh, and the fact that some people actually swallow that stuff whole makes me sick. |

Re: Worst anti-weed propaganda you've heard
The SLOMing ad was the stupidest I've seen so far. Those crappy animation ones with the goofy music and the stick figure who blazes are pretty dumb as well. But Reefer Madness is definately number one in terms of false information and absurdity.

Re: Worst anti-weed propaganda you've heard
Hey, I loved that stoners in the mist thing. I havn't laughed like that for a while. It was the combination of the ridiculously over the top british accent, sported by a man who, of course, looked like the hunter out of Jumanji with his massive mustache and Indiana Jones counterpart who supposedly sought out the prey. The fact that the information was misleading and inaccurate should be expected from what is basicaly superficial propagander; it's only idiotic parents that beleive this stuff...of course lots of stoners are stupid, that's because lots of people are stupid. You take a stupid person and give him a joint, he's not going to become magicaly intellegent, he's going to stay stupid. You give an intellegent person a joint and...they stay intellegent! Lets work this out - two of my friends smoked weed scince the were 16. One failed all his GCSEs and ended up working in Tescos, the other got a BBB offer to do History from St Hughes, Oxford (a BBB offer means that he was so intellegent that oxford would take him even if he failed to get As at A level). Well I don't need to explain the stupidity of the message, but you have to laugh. If I didn't I'd probably over flow with anger and start bottling strangers.
