Opinions - Does Anyone Feel Psychedelics in Some Way May Disable Defense Mechanisms?

Does anyone else think in some way that Psychedelics in SWIMS case Shrooms have a feel too them as if they may be disabling emotional defense mechanisms and thats why so many people Have bad trips when they are in some type of emotional distress?

SWIM gets a strong feeling of this when he has deppresing mushroom expreinces. The same problems before the trip seem like nothing and while ur tripping they just feel unbearable.

Like your whole life ur brain has been getting used to its current emotional situations as they happen to you. And as the problems build up so does the deffense systems but when you use shrooms SWIM always gets a strong feeling that those Systems are disabled and ur problems are able to run a muck in ur brain.

SWIM knows psychedlics use is very unpredictable but my question is more about mabye one of the reasons they can produce such strong senses of dysphoria.
