Curious about this certain tea
SWIM purchased some tea yesterday called Tension Tamer. Now it has some ingredients that sound a little interesting to him.Mainly something he has never heard of called eleuthero, lemon grass, and catnip.Wondering if there would be a way to bring out any real psychotropic effects with this little beverage? He is sipping a glass right this moment and though the taste is definitely something one would have to acquire its not really bad.

Re: Curious about this certain tea
Eleuthero is apparently another name for Siberian ginseng, used in the US. The reason why? ----> "It is illegal to refer to Eleuthero as Siberian Ginseng in the United States at this time as "ginseng" only refers to Panax species"
Who knows why that is such a big deal, but whatever. In any case, I don't know too much about ginseng, especially the Siberian variety. It has some medical uses it seems, though I don't know how consumption of it would relate to the subjective aspects of a recreational experience. The catmint seems like a more likely source of effects, though there are many varieties and while I'd have to check on this, I think they could put just about any one of them in and call it catnip or catmint, as those are generic terms. It may have potential to produce some effects, but I'm not really sure how likely that is, considering that catmint takes quite a bit of material to produce any noticeable effects, eleuthero doesn't seem to be known for much, if any, recreational effects, and I have no clue about lemon grass but I seriously doubt its psychoactive. Let us know if swiy notices anything peculiar from consumption. |

Re: Curious about this certain tea
It will be rather hard for SWIM to make an accurate report about this teas effects this particular instance because though he does feel pretty relaxed while drinking it he has also consumed 150 mg doxylamine succinate and 3 mg of xanax. The tea however may indeed be helping with this.SWIM could be very wrong but he purchased this same tea quite a few years back and for some reason thinks one of its ingredients was kava but that might be wrong, however definitely no kava in it now.

Re: Curious about this certain tea
Catmint / Catnip will produce a mild relaxed high if approx 25gram is drank as a tea. The lemonbalm tastes nice and will also relax, some sources claim an effect similar to Kava if used as a quid. Ginseng seems best taken daily over time, swim has never noticed much effect from experimentation in many diffrent forms, but it must work for some. Generally used to reduce stress, increase energy and concentration, balance one out.
The dosage for Lemonbalm and Ginseng is much lower than that for recreational Catnip, therefore being in the blend they may limit swiy from getting enough Catnip for much effect. Ginseng may cause a headache and other mild side effects in high dose. So, probably best just used as a relaxing tea as intended. Could probably be smoked also. |
