Question What is abilify and how is it helping SWIM? (in neurological terms)

SWIM uses amphetamines and was in a state of psychosis on and off the drug but has been pulling it together lately, reducing his use and improving his funtional performance off the drug. He's been perscribed abilify and lexapro and they're helping him ALOT both on and off the speed. He doesn't obssess and tweak over everything including his own paranoid thoughts, nor does he have any of the mild paranoia or minor delusions as he used to even with his reducing use of speed. What does the medications do that does this?
