does anyone know how to, or where i could find instructions on how to dry a san pedro to be powederized into capsules? something that doesnt require alot work and works... has anyone had good results with putting san pedro into capsules?

Slice it up 1/4 inch thick, and put it in a 200 degree oven to dry. Or sun dry, or a dehydrator. Easy peasy. Never made capsules however. I have always made syrup, to get rid of the bulk. You can do a nice extraction with dry powdered pedro.</font>

onediadem could u describe more of this syrup? any links would be cool... I've read up on various preparations off erowid and off the net but want to make sure i do an idiot proof one... some of the trip reports i read mentioned the capsules and san pedro powder and it seemed like the easiest way to go.. if anyone cares to share successful methods please do so

just get your dried and powdered cactus slices with the woody core removed which will help to reduce the nausea and bulk amount to be consumed.then just pop in into a pot and simmer on low heat until all your leaft with is your syurp extraction,which should be atleast 2/3 times samller in size.futher pureification requires a bit of skill andmore understanding of the chemicalsused

Is the cactus you have fresh? If it is, you can avoid even having to dry it. Peel the waxy layer of skin from the cactus, careful not to remove any of the darker green right underneath. Cut it into cubes after peeled, and freeze it to break cell walls. Then defrost and put into a food processor and process into a pulp with water to cover and a splash of lemon juice. Once pulped, put mix into a pot and cook down. Once it has cooked down half the liquid, strain what is in the pot thru a mans dress shirt to remove pulp. Sqeaze all liquid out, saving the liquid. Put pulp into pan again, and cover with water, and cook liquid down again. Repeat this process 4 times.
This process will remove almost the entire content of alkaloids from the cactus. What you have left is a liquid that you now cook down to syrup. Once you have about 1/2 inch left in the pot, you can pour it into a glass baking dish, and bake until you end up with a tar to be rolled into balls, or you can just drink the syrup.</font>

i pref san pedro cuz it grows fastest and torchs have a shiat load of needles on em and yes peyote takes many many years to mature and have a good mesc buildup. also why hasnt anyone tried to mix there san pedro cuttings with icecream or 15tsp of sugar? lemon juice bah come on guys it makes it more tarty..use this reciepe.. cut spines off use a carrot peeler or knife and gently remove outter skin slice the pedro into little star like shaps poke the middle out (the hard center) slice the stars in half and blend them with 1/2 cup icecream (anyflavor) pour the mixed san pedro and icecream in a big bowl and freeze for 3 hrs...eat and enjoy.. i use this method and i get a way better tasting pedro than limon juice (i would have to guess..due to fact limon juice is sour and tarty and would make it worse..who thought of that...damn indians |

Ialways eat san pedro after cook it for 6 or 8 hours, and now I´m interested about how to make it freeze.  ;  ;  ; Can I extract from the cactus the green pulp and freeze only this, orI have to freeze all the cactus?Ineed to freeze and defrostonce or more times? And after this i need to cook it, or to cook it´s only to make the syrop, for decrease the liquid? At final sorry but my english it´s not quite good as i want it. thank you for all your words!! |

in ones dream one could make syrup and freeze either throw in pressure cooker with DH2Oat 10psi for 15minutes stain liquid repeat about 5 times or if no PC simmer in DH2O with a little citric acidstrain liquid repeat about 6 times after done combine liquids and simmer to a syrup like consistiesy put in jar and freez swim read at the nook this can stay good in the freezer for years and 1oz=100milligrams |

One Half liter of San Pedro Syrup was placed in Fridge and it separated
into 2 layers top is a brown layer, the bottom, a green layer with particles. Would it be neccessary to draw off the top layer and dispose of the bottom layer? Would the bottom layer make any difference? |

It will make some difference. Swim believes the extra cacti material that did nt get strained has settled to the bottom of the container So one could eat it beacuse there is a decent amount of goodies in there but it is not neccecasry the syrup is on top. Also do not keep in fridge for over a week it can go bad if saving for a long tme freeze |

OKSwim just got a 21in. 4lb. San Pedro in the mail and it's in a pot boiling right now . My question is about dosage . I have read about taking anywhere from 6in. to 24in. . About how many doses shouldswim get out of this cactus and how long will my trip last ? ? Also about how much lemon juice shouldhe ad to the mxture ? |

avarageis @ 1% mesc per fresh weight. If it is 4 lbs is about 2 kilos. ( CHECK THE CONVERSION FROM LB TO KILO ONLINE FIRST PLEASE>>. It is NOT exactly 2 LB = 1 KG!!!!! ) 1 kilogram is about 3 decent trips if your cactus is @1% mark. So you could have yourself with 5 to 6 decent trips if you are a good cactus cook. ( cook & strain2 or3 times ) |

in thetec I read it said to throw away the pulpafter the first boiling but I will try boiling it again tomorrow. Also do you add lemon juice to the mixture ? well it's almost done so I will try drinking about half the mixture along with sixteen ounces extracted dxm and three blue footballs. I will let you know how it goes ! |
