Freeze Burn Has Occured, Want To Get The Low Down

Hello. Somebody I know, SWIM, mildly burned there throat/vocal cords (maybe I am not sure what was damaged) recently. SWIM was aware of it and well that's a long and complicated story what happend exactly I don't know the whole story myself. Anyway SWIM hasn't gone to the Docters yet, but I want to get the low down about it on what to expect because I told SWIM i'd asked around, SWIM is a bit concerned. Anybody with similar cases / aftermath information on this subject please do respond, thank you.
