IV users please read - needle damage

I came across this and couldn't find much about this on here. I would like to cross post this into other forums for other drugs that can be used IV but that is against the rules. Perhaps there should be a forum for paraphenalia, et cetera... anyways:



Moral of the story: Don't use a needle more than once if at all possible. All SWIMs have done it. It will terribly damage your veins, bruise your arms, et cetera.

jesus christ. SWIM once used the same needle for about a whole month (5-8 times a day). No wonder his veins have collapsed in both arms.

wow swim once saw someone pull a needle out of the ceiling(dont ask) and use it wonder what that one looked like!

Swim is grateful to live in a place where needle exchange is free and encouraged,took long enought to get it mind, hell we even get spoons and citric now

SWIM is sure that a few of her fuck ups were due to this problem. SWIM also uses needle exchange but sometimes gets caught short

Hooking is indeed disgusting, worse than dulling by far.

SWIM does the following to make sure his needle's aren't hooked:

Take your needle, and take the piece of cotton you are going to shoot up with. Pull your needle all over the cotton, rotating it. Or just stick it in the cotton and pull it out. If part of the cotton threads hook and pull on your needle while you drag it across, you should know now tnot o use it.

If you use a hooked needle, you will have to push it in extra hard, and you'll feel this disgusting crunching sensation through your flesh.

What SWIM does to check for hooking is to run it across SWIY nail. If SWIY hear it scraping then don't use it!!!

Sometimes when swim cant get to a rite-aid he has no choice to reuse needles,he trys to keep them clean and stuff but wow,that insane...look at how bad the point is after just 2 uses!
Couldent you just use a magnifying glass to see how bad the points are?

SWIM isn't really familiar with the shooting up process. Does that happen to needles because you're heating the tip with a lighter? Or are you guys just shoving them so deep in your arm you hit the bone...

The point of a needle is very...pointy and fragile. Simply puncturing the skin will wear a needle as pictured above.

I dunno, those pictures aren't really that magnified. Maybe the needles SWIM owns have bigger tips? Are there different sizes? SWIM's were shipped to him carrying mushroom spores (he's not shooting with em though!).

In the US most people use insulin needles to shoot, because you can buy them cheap OTC at pharmacies in most states. You can only buy up to 1 cc needles without an RX, and only 2 bags at most. There are long tip and short tip, and different "gauges" (largest common needle size/gauge to smallest): 29, 30, 31.

SWIM has bought shroom spore syringes. SWIm and his bro joked about trying to refit them to the IV needle, but SWIM has gotten fungus spores in his blood before from cotton fever and it wasn't fun.

SWIM always really worried when an addict very close to SWIM would use the same needles for long periods of time and has done everything to encourage him to use new needles. After seeing this, SWIM is not going to let him near old needles!!
