really wierd embarrasing question about shooting

Well swim has no definition in his arms and cannot find a vein for love or money! But he loves to shoot, and is determined to find another way...

.....well here is the wierd embarassing part...... swim found a huge vein.. that pops up and would be incredibly easy to hit... the problem is.... its located on swims dick....

Its on the top side of swims dick on the base.... it reminds swim of the veins on his feet except its 3 times as large.... ive heard of people shooting up here, but they say that sometimes they cant get a hard on, but swim doesnt care cuz he doesnt get horny on opiates...

well any recommendations on easier injecting? cuz swim cant seem to find a vein ever. My friends were always hit by a friend, but the friend is not a friend anmore. So must learn how to find a vein better.

Veins carry blood at a lower pressure and never have a pulse - anything with a pulse is an artery.
Veins start off as the tiniest capillaries carrying blood back to the heart, which merge, forming bigger and bigger veins as they progress. The outer (peripheral) veins merge with deeper, bigger veins. On the arm, one of the main junctions is at the inside of the elbow - which is the least dangerous place to inject and is where most people start injecting.
You can increase the blood flow in veins - and make them bigger - by:

• relaxing;
• warming yourself up;
• flexing your muscles;
• gripping your upper arm; and
• warming up the limb by putting it in warm water, but don’t inject heroin or other sedatives in the bath: if you fall unconscious you could drown.

If this doesn’t work you can slow the blood flow out of your arm and fill the vein by using a tourniquet - which must be one that can be released quickly and easily without causing movement that can disturb the needle. Tourniquets that are too tight don’t work because they stop the blood getting in as well.
If you do use a tourniquet it must be released before you start injecting, otherwise the blood carrying the drugs won’t be able to get past, and the vein may tear at the injection site. If this happens, some of what you inject will escape from the vein, causing swelling at the injection site: a ‘miss.’"

Cuz swims veins are hard to find, but is definatly his favorite route, so it kidna sux

Sadly, the best advice is simply to practice, perhaps with a new needle filled only with clean water - that way it's not as frustrating if you don't hit it (although then it's frustrating when you *DO* hit it! *LOL*). Read up on injection techniques found in the links above, and remember to just relax.

I never thought I'd say this, but has SWIM considered plugging?
Man, I guess after reading 3 million conversations on the benifits of anal administration old SWIM had to put it out there as an alternative.
Stay away from the genitals with needles though man. Imagine getting an infection there. Amputation of the infected member? Probably the worst thing that cold happen to someone.

SWIM always shot up in SWIM's feet since no one would look there for tracks. SWIM would hold it off with one finger, hit it with the other hand and then put SWIM's feet up on a chair (with cottonball taped over vein so it wouldn't blow). SWIM found that that worked well and those veins are more prominent. The down side is that they are more likely to form a hematoma due to the pressure of gravity, hence putting one's feet up during the nod and tightly taping a cottonball to the injection site for about 10 minutes helps. Note that this technique is a problem for those who shoot up frequently (ie-cocaine) since big tracks can cause big hematomas.
Other than that,some people just have crappy veins. Don't shoot into you dick - that's asking for trouble as stated above.
SWIM stopped IV use a long time ago (in fact, SWIM stopped narcotic use a long time ago too..). With heroin, SWIM could get almost as good of a rush by smoking it, though nothing beats IV. If SWIY's veins are that bad, it might be worth considering an alternative route of administration, particularly if hitting difficult to find veins is not SWIY's forte... Finding veins and hitting successfully is a talent that not everyone has.

Perhaps many of the "harsh realities", I'm really not certain - however, where in the USA are you gonna get pharmaceutical grade heroin ampules? heh heh heh. Morphine ampules could be easier to come by, I suppose, but to be "clean" for injection purposes, it would have to be ampules, NOT crushed up pills.

Ultimately, it's up to the person who would want to inject what risks they are willing to take; one person could be comfortable injecting into freshly clean feet, while someone else would never even consider injecting pills, filtered or not, while yet another might decide to use the same needle 10 times without cleaning in between uses - it all comes down to the amount of risk vs. high any one person would be willing to take, and no one can answer that question for anyone else.

Although my opiate-tolerant friend is always as clean and paranoid as possible, there are risks in what's being done, no matter what. My friend's POV is something like, "after seeing some of the people who shoot up, I realized it couldn't be as hard as it looked". While I think that's a rather fool-hardy way of looking at things, there is a small point.

As stated above, some are just better at it than others, and I also know it's about practice - nurses don't know how to draw blood on the first try, you know? They practice A LOT. I also know a couple, and the wife can hit herself and her husband without problem, while the husband can't hit himself very well - obviously, he *CAN* be hit, but the wife's better at it because she must have practice on him. If SWiY has been hit before on regular occassions, then practice is what SWiY needs. Also, recommend that SWiY get some rubber tubbing/tourniquet, or maybe a very thin belt, perhaps electrical cord - most belts are too thick to properly tie off with, despite what is seen in movies.

Snapper's post seems pretty knowledgeable; from what I've read, the main reasons not to shoot in one's foot are cleanliness and blood flow - cleaning well (perhaps with antibacterial soap - I wouldn't just trust an alcohol swab on the foot!), applying pressure afterwards (important regardless, but especially so in the lower limbs), and raising the limb *should* make the risks not much more than, say, in the arms.

SWIM had a massive heroin habit and after every vein visible ran out (including tounge, neck, arms, legs, palms, bottoms of feet..etc.) he started shooting in his dick (stupid, stupid, STUPID swim), and now has erectile dysfunction....seriously. Half mast is about it for swim...

Find another spot man!

As said above...taking a hot bath will raise up a few "hidden" veins. Always using a fresh spike will reduce the chances of blowing a vein and infection.

Sorry, should have mentioned cleaning. SWIM used the top of SWIM's feet, new insulin needle every time, scrubbed over vein with alcohol before injection and SWIM also avoided fishing around. SWIM would take some time to visualize the vein and made every effort to hit it dead on first. This kept the vein happy longer.
Also, avoid any spike bigger than an insulin since the bigger the hole, the more likely the vein will collapse and SWIY will have to go looking for one somewhere else. Acolon_5's advice on the hot bath is also good. Heat causes veins to rise since they are trying to vent heat by bringing bloodflow closer to the surface to cool it.
Better yet, stop poking yourself. It's a dead end eventually.
Skin popping and IM is dangerous with street drugs since it can easily cause an abscess or infection. It is safe with a sterile, clean product, but not with anything contaminated.It also does not kick in as fast as IV..

swim doesnt have access to ampoules, but swim has acetic anhydride, and morphine pills, he will be turning the morphine into freebase. Then reacting it with the acetic anhydride to get heroin. Thats aobut as pure as one can hope for
