Zolpidem hallucinations, anybody??

LOL,I took 50 mg on empty stomach this morning.................it started to kick in very fast giving me a tremendous euphorical feeling...................the next thing I knew I talked to small, palm sized rabbits around my desktop, than with sinister aliens near the kitchen..............this is not my first time, I'm taking this stuff for 5-6 years, but I never had so clear-cut hallucinations, only a sense that hours pass like minutes.Usually, the effects areonly a warping of the space and picture flashes. This time,It came quick,it went out fast.................did anybody had a similar experience????<!--

I personaly have never found ambean to have much recreational potential myself, i took 30mg and just ended up with harable cordination and just pass out, never remembering anything. a few freinds of mine have found ambean to be pretty fun. the only kind of visuals i get (that i remember at least) were just slight breathing on objects. so slight it could of been placibo.

You are right about that.Ambien has little value as a funtime drug. However,it works as a good anxiolytic for me,although that is not one of its indications.

Strangely, both of these effects (hallucinations and amnesia) do appear at doses only a couple of time greater than the therapeutical one, which is about 10 mg.

Cheers,
Igor

People on this website keep talking about the hallucinatory properties of Ambien, but I don't really see it. SWIM has taken Ambien over 500 times and does not see really any recreational value whatsoever. use them to end your evening when stimulants were involved.

This has happened to me with Lorazepam at high doses. No doubt ambien can do it too.

Peace,

yeah a lot of people don't believe those who say they have
hallucinations on this. It only happens for a very few, lucky folk. Me
included.

All my hallucinations happened at 10mg, too. 20mg I got double vision,
and was too much for me. 10mg was my door to a little demented world in
which I ran about every night. Very fun.

I get hallucinations from 10mg, but if I take 20-anytihng higher than that, it's the same. I have no idea why this is, though.

Re: Ambien hallucinations

They aren't similar to any other drugs.

Assuming you have the nontime released 10mg kind and don't weigh 300lbs, I'd just start with one, especially if you don't have someone sober to watch you. That definitely did it for me and was rather enjoyable, more than two and it got to the point where I didn't remember anything, waking up the next morning to find all my furniture rearranged and piled on one side of my room.

Also, put the pills somewhere kind of awkward to get to after you take your dose. For some reason ambien is one of those drugs you just start taking more and more once you are under the influence.

SWIM & his girlfriend stayed up all night after battling off of sleep stage then cuddled while having one of the strangest eye candy visuals. SWIM would of never thought this was possible from a sleep aid.

Ambien is a sedative-hypnotic, not a hallucinogen. It will cause some people to hallucinate, most likely 'hypnogogic' hallucinations related to being on the thin edge of falling asleep. But SWIY shouldn't expect it to have that effect for any particular person.

Re: The Combined Ambien Hallucinations Thread

SWIdr has used Ambien plenty of times. It does not really cause hallucenations for him, just some euphoria and other relaxing effects. Although he has experienced some hallucenations while on the drug on a few occasions. SWIdr finds that if he takes the Ambien on an empty stomach and smokes a couple hits of marijuana afterwards, he becomes much more susceptible to the hallucenogenic effects.

Re: The Combined Ambien Hallucinations Thread

SWIM's grandmother was in the hospital having her leg operated on and they had her on Lortab and Ambien to sleep. SWIM and his mom spent the night there to keep her company and she woke up tripping balls. She was raising hell about a tornado that had snuck in the window and pulled all of her tubes out.. and she swore that it was caused by the book SWIM's mom was reading. She was yelling and refused to stay in bed because she wanted to stand up and urinate. SWIM thought it was weird as hell.

Re: The Combined Ambien (Zolpidem) Hallucinations Thread

Ambien is the best sleep med in swim's opinion. You just have to take it and get into bed or yes some very unpleasant things could happen. Swim ate a whole pizza one night sleepwalking and was throwing up the next morning wondering where the pizza came from. Swim has been on ambien for over 6 years and stays on a regular dosing schedule. No more than 10 mgs. It works for swim. If swim took more, she would do crazy stuff and that isn't why she takes ambien. Long term effects swim has noticed are some rebound anxiety which with a small dose of klonopin controls it. Wds are not as bad as benzo wds. You basically can't sleep for a few days and have legs pulls in swim's experience.

Re: The Combined Ambien (Zolpidem) Hallucinations Thread

OOh man o man am i slowly startin to see some crazy shit go down right now. i took 20mg of ambien the night before last and past out before i could get to the good stuff like hallusinations. So my dumbass dicides that that shit wasnt gonna happen again. So this time i took 50mg of my Vyverse(new adderall on the market, but it doesnt give u that instant release of euphoric rush to cut down on amphetamine abuse and it slowly releases the d-amphetamine as it digests so you can stay awake and focus longer without the euphoria for 10-12hrs). I was hopin would go into fuck up mode and it would give me little pick me up shots of amp so i dont sleep. Well the plan wasnt working because the amp over powered the ambien. So of couse my solution to that is take more ambien. right now im at 60mg and seein little things here or there, but nothing to exciting and im about to jump up to 80mg of ambien. I have a feeling i might have a little fun with that.(Im still not tired though i just feel like when u take some klonopin or xanax.

Re: Zolpidem Hallucinations

ZOLPIDEM TARTRATE 15MG experience

Weight: 67kg
age: 31
height: 5'7"
Dose: 15mg

Time: 10.00pm
15 minutes have past, Whilst watching a french movie the first signs become present, body slowly becoming sedate, very relaxed
arms and legs feel heavy, making this typing a lot harder.

Perception is slowed down, ability to focus is a little difficult & processing images takes a bit of effort. Suppose its similar to being drunk with a more calm sedate heavy feel.

Swim is unable to stand on the spot or walk without falling over.

Lying on the bed with the light on enjoying the high, Swims mother opens the door & tells swim to turn the light off (dont know what time it was). Swim can't tell if this a dream or real, Since doing Zolpidem on & off for the past week, is having extremely strange dreams which have been interactive. Last one was being chased by zombies, which you'd think you would have woken up from the nightmare, but didn't, swim slept through the whole thing.

next morning swim was told about the light, Forgotten pretty much everything except little bits of the dream. only this remains from the activity had.

Overall, sleeping pills have there place in the drug scene and when you find the right one for you can be enjoyable, Swim prefers Oxy when swim can get it. 6 out of 10

Zolpidem (ambien): any weird effects? (Hallucinations)

I've heard horror story after horror story about this stuff and tonight is night 2 of taking it for SWIM. Last night, not the best of sleep on 5 mgs. Now tonight, she has taken 10 mgs, crushed and absorbed orally. She claims it's quicker. Whatever. So far, she hasn't had any of the weird come ups or sleep walking or anything like other pople have. She just giggled a whole lot about her talking mac (not hallucination). Then she slept poorly. She's getting pretty weird, but is still very conscious although her body finally seems to be shutting down after an hour. She says that Seroquel was much better than this shit and all it's really good for is tripping. Ha, she might be right if it's putting her to sleep. Anyone trip out on this drug? SWIM seems to be having fun.

AW: Zolpidem (ambien): any weird effects?

Well SWIM gets the 10 mg Zolpidems as sleep aid. It´s no constantivily consumption, just if needed, so one box wtih 20 pills lasts for 2-3 months. But SWIM knew about the psychocative qualities about that stuff, so he one time kept 10 pills and went to de doc. for another package... no problem. Now SWIM had his regular package and 10 to spare for fun. He took one and kept in front of the computer, it was relaxing, also the msucles relaxed, a small dissortion with the eyes followed and it was hard to concentrate. But still pleasent and he also slept good, no memory losses at this dosage. So SWIM thought about making a deeper experience and took 3 pills. This was highly relaxing and created a big euphorie and also lost his inhibitions. So this is the point where it became a little uncomfortable to SWIM. In this sitaution he talked too much, no bad stuff, but he told things to others which should be avoided. For example telling his mom on the phone that he got prescription sleep aids and is so high that he´s wanna go to bed now, just to cancel the phone call. It was pretty annoying to him at this point. Also the concentration had been fully blown away, he couldn´t remember what he did 10 minutes before. So he went to bed and slept about 50% longer than regular. After the wake up he could barely remember what happend the evening before. So SWIM stopped here and just continued using it as prescripted, a medicine for days where he can´t find sleep.
So SWIMS adive for SWIY is: low dosages about 10-20 mg are fun, but those dosages never get you fully buzzed. And if SWIY is on it, she will have the feeling of necessity to take more. And SWIY will allready experience heavy memory losses with 20 mg, everything above is getting strange/weird.

Hallucinations are common on zolpidem (Ambien), it acts on the GABA-A receptors, on the subunit that benzo's act on.

Side-effects at any dose may include:

Hallucinations, through all physical senses, of varying intensity, delusions, altered thought patterns, ataxia , increased appetite, decreased sex drive, impaired inhibitions and judgement, increased impulsivity, rebound insomnia and somtimes headaches.

Re: Zolpidem (ambien): any weird effects?

Thanks for the info.

Drats: SWIM said that she took a 5mg tab last night, chewed it and allowed it to absorb orally again and swallowed a 3 mg tab of melatonin. After approx. 20 minutes, she began to have what seemed like visions with her eyes closed. Something somewhat like CEV's I'd have to guess, but not just stupid patterns or things. She actually could see different places as if she were sitting in different rooms that she had never seen before. She said she got really confused and didn't know which eyes to open because she couldn't figure out which person or place she was or was in. Crazy. The CEV/vision was mundane, but vivid enough to wig her out. She repeated the same mgs and stuff tonight and I think I'm going to try and get her to go to bed earlier than last night. The last thing I need is a girl hopped up on ambien on a work night.

Re: Zolpidem Hallucinations

SWIM thinks this drug is a good one for those who need it to sleep in the first place, since it gives the added bonus of strange trippiness. SWIM is going to continue the fun and take the ambien a bit earlier tonight.

If I stay up while on Ambien I start seeing weird things. The worst (or best) trip I had was when I started talking to my computer keys because they were moving around my computer and changing colors

Forgot to mention that I am prescribed Ambien. I'll have small hallucinations when just taking the doctor-advised 10mg amount.
