Intense Provigil (Modafinil) EUPHORIA.

For some reason this hasn't been well documented, but 1200+ MG of provigil will create a very intense euphoria that lasts for ALMOST 24 HOURS!
GREAT STUFF!!!
Give it a try.

Re: Intense Provigil EUPHORIA.

Swim hadn't seen no studies over 800mg, but it does cause euphoria at that level. Swim takes them as prescribed, never tried no more than two at a time. Too damn expensive.

Re: Intense Provigil EUPHORIA.

Swim takes 200mg a day, usually with a pot of coffee. Does put him in a better mood most of the time. Plus, it keep the yawns away until night. To him, it safer on the heart than speed.

It's actually perfectly safe.
Provigil is a remarkable safe drug.

"Doses of 4500 mg and 4000 mg were taken intentionally by two patients participating in foreign depression studies. In both cases, the adverse experiences observed were limited, expected, and not life-threatening, and the patients recovered fully by the following day. The adverse experiences included excitation or agitation, insomnia, and slight or moderate elevations in hemodynamic parameters. In neither of these cases nor in other instances of doses of more than 1000 mg/day, including experience with up to 21 consecutive days of dosing at 1200 mg/day, were any unexpected effects or specific organ toxicities observed."

The only problem is that it's go damn expensive. Good thing my insurrance pays for every penny.

Sounds very interesting. SWIM hasn't found any provigil around yet to experiment with. Looks like he'll have to look harder...

Re: Intense Provigil EUPHORIA.

SWiM has read about this and thought this over a few times now, and it does indeed sound promising for someone with about zero energy and extreme ADD. This is what he has been looking for, a decent, cheap and hopefully unadultered stimulant, and no need for urine tests and doctors to get it! In a few days when he has some cash, he will be ordering a jar or two of it...

Re: Intense Provigil EUPHORIA.

Following SWIMs experience SWIM would explicitly NOT recommend such doses.

Modafinil is quite a subtle drug and this is partly the problem. With traditional stimulants your more likely to realise how wired you are and how much sleep your loosing in the process.

You can slowly build up a sleep deficit with modafinil without realising it. Then there is rebound effects (at a dose of 1200mg in a few days time if you stop your going to feel incredibly lethargic) and of then there are the direct side effects of that size dose on the kidneys, liver etc.

SWIM could understand how some people may tolerate that dose but SWIM would advise caution and suggest overall such doses would be counter-productive in the long run.

Where is this study from? Also it mentions no unexpected effects. That means all the potential side effects such as paranoia, bad anxiety, irritation, agression would all fall under that umbrella as these can be side effects from normal dosing.

Also what was the psychological effect a week after stopping that dose after 21 days?

SWIM honestly believes modafinil has a natural limit in terms of beneficial effects. Similar to caffeine - one can take sensible doses and get desired effects but above certain doses the side effects increase disproportionately to the benefits.

Re: Intense Provigil EUPHORIA.

Some caution is always good Zaprenz, but at <400 mg it seems quite safe, though I admit I should do some more reading. SWiM actually sleeps like a log on small doses of many stimulants, so it's probably worth a shot for him. Why does/did SWiY use it?

Re: Intense Provigil EUPHORIA.

SWIM agrees with doses <400mg - no problem and would agree it has many beneficial effects.

The doses mentioned above however were 4000mg! or 1250mg for 21 days. These are the doses SWIM questions the benefits or "euphoria" over any side effects.

Re: Intense Provigil (Modafinil) EUPHORIA.

I was considering making a separate thread about SWIM's, and Modafinil experiences in general, but this seems as good a place as any.

Keep in mind this is only one subject with a handful of datapoints:

SWIM was telling me that he reccommends strongly against using Modafinil. He tried it initially having heard that its effects were to eliminate the need for sleep. The first time he took 200mgs in the morning after a good night's sleep. Another time he took 300mgs after an insufficient night's sleep in order to stay awake for a long drive.

On all occasions, he experienced slight nausea. Nothing vomitous, but a moderate discomfort that lasted perhaps 3-5 hours after dosing. On the first occasion mentioned, he was able to fall asleep only a few hours after dosing, but upon waking after a short nap, he was still strongly feeling the effects of the drug. Perhaps most notably, on the second occasion mentioned, the drug did nothing to reduce his desire for sleep. He felt all the negative effects of insufficient sleep: reduced cognitive function, reduced attention span, headache, body fatigue. The only difference was that his mind was not restful enough to allow sleep, in spite of it's great need and desire for sleep. Needless to say, it was a long, unpleasant, and unproductive day.

On the whole, he found that Modafinil does nothing to increase function or reduce one's fatigue or need for sleep, it only makes sleeping more difficult or impossible. And let me tell you, when you're really tired, not being able to sleep in and of itself is not a desirable effect.

Thumbs down.

Sounds highly suspect and awfully convenient that those damn johnny foreigner types just decided to neck a fistful of meds for some depression study. Where is the link to the research papers for this particular "foreign" study?

More importantly, why are the "supposed" results of two patients being touted as being enough proof as to the safety of such a large dose?

he makes a perfect point and where the study was fournd, where it was done and who it was done by has a hudge significance. if you cant find tomany sources that are viable i wouldnt trust it.im prescribed 2, 200 mg tabs a day for add. they work but i havent found any euphoria.
