Doing a little research at the library, SWIM came across this in a medical reference book:

A few medications, such as cimetidine and ranitidine (histamine H2-receptor antagonists) appear to be able to increase alcohol concentrations through inhibition of gastric alcohol dehydrogenase.

A little web surfing came across this site:
http://ace.sodbrennen-welt.de/antazi...95/7485821.htm In it, they compared a fixed dose of ethanol given to a group both before and after a cimetidine regemin. Before ETOH concentration: 27+-3 mg/dl; after 39+-5mg/dl.
This intrigues SWIM. SWIM seems to recall cimitidine (aka Tagamet) is a fairly cheap OTC; would it be cost-effetive to use it to enhance effect for a given dosage?
