Full melt bubble hash is as good as it gets. Also seen oils taken out to %95+, mmmm budder. Theirs nothing like the clean taste of ice water extracted hash, tho.

Moroccan Black, in the UK about twenty five years ago. I've no idea how that compares to modern hash though.

Bubble hash is a method the uses ice water to extract pure THC trichomes. Swit has seen it isolated out to just the heads of the glands. Bubbles up and melts all over the bowl! The method has only gotten popular in the last few years, mostly cause some canadian guys started manufacturing bubble hash kits. Charas from a reputable establishment has always suited SWIM well when in the NL. Other than that there is some crazy icolater hash available if SWIY is feeling brave.

For SWIM, the strongest hash is from Nepal, Pakistan, Northern India and Afghanistan, but the quality varies wherever the stuff comes from for a whole variety of reasons. Beyond a certain point, the comparative strength doesn't matter that much, but freshness does.

Lebanese hash? Red Leb was good, but that was a while ago!

Hashish production is nowhere near what it used to be over there, but it still occurs.

Swim was lucky enough to live in the Middle East for quite a while, so he would get it every so often.

CANNABIS CUP 2006:

The three hash judges, Jorge Cervantes, Freedom Fighter of the Year Shawn Heller, and the winner of the 420tours contest, were supposed to get samples at the dinner. Mike got on a cell phone to round up some hash, but the samples didn't arrive for 24 hours. And when they did arrive, two were missing, a fact that would not be uncovered until the night of the awards. A tragic flaw, staining the integrity of the Cup. Such stains require heavy ceremony to disappear.

Other than that glitch, the Cup went off without any further incident. Mila had her confrontation with Kyle at the Pax. De La Soul, Fishbone, Defari, and many other hip-hop acts performed great sets, and everyone remarked how the crowd was the most polite and well-mannered ever.

The peak improvisational moment came when the Cannabis Cup Band took the stage and introduced Article Dan from Trinidad, who made up a song on the spot titled "Your Time, My Time," and dedicated it to HIGH TIMES and the Cup. For the rest of the event, one could hear judges singing those lyrics in coffeeshops around the city. "My time, your time, my time high! Who's really high? I'm really high!" Article Dan's performance, along with all the other highlights of the Cup's entire history, can be found on the first Cannabis Cup DVD, which should be in stores when this issue hits the stands.

One of the most important things that happened was Mike's realization that the Cannabis Cup Band had gathered more peak moments that any other group. This band has been working for recognition and a HIGH TIMES Records deal for seven years. No matter, the DVD fully demonstrates the ceremonial powers of this amazing band.

The day after the awards show, I went to the traditional 420 ceremony at the winning coffeeshop, Barney's. Soma burst into the room like a man on a mission. He'd just purchased $200 worth of the winning Old Church hash. He threw it on the table with disdain. He sat down and loaded a bong with a slab of Jelly. He held another slab in his hand and worked it into a ball as he sang love and praises for the Jelly, which sells for three times more than any other hash in Amsterdam. Then he turned his attention to the Old Church hash. "If Helen Keller and her two blind sisters were the hash judges, they could not mistake this commercial shit as better than the Jelly." It was déjà vu for me, since Harry from the Bluebird had given the same speech after failing to capture a hash prize at the 8th Cup. For many years thereafter, the Bluebird refused to enter the contest, even though they clearly had some of the best hash in Amsterdam. By some karmic coincidence, someone mentioned that the Bluebird had just gotten hit by a narc squad. Soma looked stricken. He stopped his rant, pulled out a cell phone and called Harry to make sure he was OK. And he was. Whew.

"Hey, I agree with you," I told Soma. "Americans can't judge hash. The Jelly was the best hash. It deserved the Cup in my opinion. I'll tell you what; they gave me a Cup at the awards show. I'll give that Cup to De Dampkring in recognition of the Jelly."

Soma whipped out his cell phone and called Paul at De Dampkring, so I could repeat those words to him. However, I neglected to tell them that particular Cup, which was supposed to end up on my fireplace mantle, had been stolen from the backstage area the night of the awards show, so it was probably going to take a while to deliver on the promise.

Later that night, I told Arjan from the Green House what had happened. "You are making a big mistake," he said. "First of all, that hash from the Old Church was sold to them by the Rokerij [owned by Arjan's brother-in-law]. It's called Christmas Butter, and only six kilos a year are produced. It is my personal favorite hash."

Suddenly, there I was again, smack in the middle of the biggest, longest-running competition between two of the greatest cannabis babas in town: Arjan of the Green House and Paul of De Dampkring. These two had been vying for the Cannabis Cup for years-although De Dampkring did drop out for three years because they got tired of having to spend so much promotion money to compete. We'd changed some rules to make the contest fairer, and as a result they came back into the fold. The Cup wasn't the same without Paul and Arjan battling it out.

But my mind was already plotting a new ceremony. Silversmith Robin "The Hammer" Ludwig must forge a Cup on the winter solstice on the side of Overlook Mountain in Woodstock, near where Bob Dylan bought his first house and lived for many years, an area rich in counterculture vibrations, holy ground for the peace culture. I needed to deliver this Cup to De Dampkring, and hope it brought enough positive energy to cleanse the stain and clear the air, because the 15th Cup... It was really all about the Jelly.

Back in the day (30+ years ago), swim had some hash that was black on the outside and when cut through, was golden brown on the inside. The hash had flower impresssions on the outside (the press mold must have had a flower design cut into it). This hash was very hard (not sticky soft or crumbly). Very spicy flavor. That was the finest hash (hash/opium mixture) swim ever had (Afghan ?)

SWIM had full melt bubble hash made with the trim from leda uno and a blueberry hybrid. Both were great but the leda hash was tops.

SWIMS best hash he ever smoked was called "ear wax" from the Clinic, it looked like little crack rocks sorta and was 85% THC.

I am not sure if its exactly the same as hash but anyone in california who has also baught "ear wax" may know of it.

SWIM would have to say, Kashmiri hashish from North India, from a small village called Anantnag.
The purest stuff is called "ittar", means rose-water.

SWIM calls it glue, you smoke it, and you don't wanna move or do anything.

Niether of these are hashes, they are weeds. To be honest purple haze is pretty low grade and SWIM doesnt even get a hit off it. White Widow is old news and to be honest the vast majority of the times that SWIM has been offered white widow it was bullshit, the real white widow is very distinctive. "Hash" comes from "Hashish" and refers to resins not grasses. No offence but calling purple haze a top draw weed is like calling Miller Light the strongest beer.

Personally for SWIM the strongest hash he has had was some skunk Isolator in Amsterdam. SWIM had been caning it all day (Hawaiian Haze, Silver Shiva, Double Bubble Gum, Yellow Cab, New York Diesel) and this shit still blew SWIM's head off. But then at 18 Euros for 0.8G it damn well should have.

SWIM was fortunate enough to procure a cornucopia of hashish ove the past year in BC. The tastiest were the dark afghans and morroccans- perfect for rolling up delicious Js. but by far the most potent was the full melt. and SWIM was lucky enough to find two different batches. one was made from F-13 and the other was a DELICIOUS SweetSkunk X LegendsUltimateIndica. it was unreal. trust my testfish. he was ripped.

SWIM recently bought a gram of Euphoria Bubble Hash from the north west... One big hit was all it took for a very warm heavy high ... Because SWIM got laid off from his aerospace engineering job and is concerned about pre-employment drug screens, SWIM has put the balance of the hash away a while. SWIM can hardly wait to get the employment screening over with so he can do what he wants again.

Swim worked in Europe so could hop to the Dam for a quick purchase and a day and evenings smoke on days off.

The bubble melt hash is just very fine sieved hash and smoking this even off a mild weed such as shiva shanti it will wreck your Swiy. Better weeds produce better hashes but full melt is always a wrecker.

Foreign hash is better for Swim. This has the flavour and is mild to smoke. Anyone smoking a joint of full melt in the morning better be planning to stay in bed all morning. A joint of nice Moroccan is mild enough to wake you up a little.

The strongest Swim smoked was likely some good red Lebanese hash.

This was in the UK in the 80s.
