Re: Positive Amphetamine effects on daily life?

Wow, tonight SWIM finally understood what it meant to have emotions only after he killed an entire 1 liter bottle of Burnett's vodka....He thought the things he felt on Adderall were real emotions but large amounts of drinking opened a new world for him.. anySWIY know why this is?

Re: Positive Amphetamine effects on daily life?

SWIM wants to know if SWIM takes amphetamine every day and cant go without it. Nobody know SWIM does this except SWIM. SWIM feels f**king awful without it - unbelievably tired, no energy whatsoever, no motivation, can't be bothered doing anything. SWIM takes amphetamine and gets things done in house, visits friends, listens to music, writes, shops, cooks - basically feels quite happy and optimistic about everything and is interested in things. SWIM can't even be bothered having a shower without it these days and needs it even to do that. It's first thing in the morning for SWIM and dabbing at it all day till bed unless overdone it then doesn't sleep. SWIM can't tell partner, parents, friends about this. SWIM is sick of it and just wants to feel ok without it. SWIM would really appreciate talking to others who feel the same or have been throught it.

Re: Positive Amphetamine effects on daily life?

After reading those "Don't do it, there are much better things in life than speed", I think speed or any other hard drug gives you one really good and big thing to your life, you start to realise and see that there are much better things in life than drugs.
So this mean that drugs really make your life better after you have been heavily addicted to it?

No, by seeing, that there´s better things with and without the drug and you´re able and free to chose, when you want to have the good thing of each or both. Both is only possible within the use of the drug and addictedness is not possible with amphetamines or you´ve got a serious problem unresolved in your personality, which again is good to be displayed and analyzed whith using drugs and then, of course abstaining from it.

It´s even better if you´re forced, by an unpleasant trip to think about your own difficulties, as you´re forced to doing so, as if you´d live your deficits in agony again and again and time´s passing by..

Yes, SWISven seems to have the same problem. He is well known for speaking in a monotone voice and rarely displays or feels any emotions (he doesn't know how!). In person, he is highly critical of others. SWISven recently had a personality test done at the behest of his school. They determined that he thought so differently than most people that a projected outcome of his life was an inability to relate to other individuals, and a complete loss of touch with reality. It was recommended he halt all drug use (yeah, right) and avoid solitude.
SWISven's friend who has been swallowing the colored pills from an early age is very similar to him (in terms of emotions and eccentric trains of thought), and has a similar command of the English language that SWISven has (SWISven is eighteen), possibly due to the amount of books him and his friend read over the years.
All of that sounds very much like SWIM. SWIM is indeed too critical of other and can't really relate to them, mostly he analyzes them and tries to keep the critic inside him. He hasn't used stimulants extensively though. The thought of testosterone has crossed his mind too, and now that it popped up here he might be giving it a try and will be reporting back if he'll end up trying it.

Re: Positive Amphetamine effects on daily life?

maybe you´rte depressed and it´s just helping you? how pissed is swim having to rely ion pain killers since 5 years, but it just wouldnßt work-out without it, that´s how it is.

maybe swiy should be happy that it´s working so well with it, instead of knowing and being forced to the alternatives?

Re: Positive Amphetamine effects on daily life?

I was just recently prescribed a daily dose of 25mg Adderall xr. I would say that without the drug, ie my normal attitude is fairly apathetic. I speak in a monotone voice, can't really get too passionate about many things, and suffers from some amount of social anxiety, has a history of over analyzing but has gotten better at this with age. I've only been on the Adderall for about two days, and had tried Concerta extended for about a month prior but found that it caused too much anxiety and shakeyness.
I seem to be more active and awake then normally when on Adderall, seem to be better at socializing and talking openly. I wouldn't say that it is a miracle drug and I finally have emotions, I just seem a little more awake and alert, a little more engaged in reality. I also wouldn't say I feel "high" all day, I can tell when I'm on it because I feel a little jumpyer (supposed to go away after a month or so), but I'm not really in a different state of mind.
To the people who have had experience with Adderall, would you say that I should still consider not continuing this? It seems fine to me now, but the intensity of some of your messages has me wondering.

Re: Positive Amphetamine effects on daily life?

Newbie question here, forgive my ignorance - but does speed have the same influence on the mind as adderell or ritalin?

In other words If you took methamphetamine in very minute doses, would the efect be similar to adderell, with regards to its ability to improve concentration and logical thinking.

In the UK adderell perscriptions are very rare, the UK general medical council is very slow to accepting ADD as a legimate condition, only willing to perscribe treatment in the most severe cases, and even then you need to go through a very lengthy process of being referred by the GP to a specialist pyschiatrist and undergoing about a 1.5 hours of testing and personal history taking but speed is quite commonly available on the black market and I just was wondering if people would take speed in low doses as a acceptable alternative to adderell?

I had a friend who did extremely well on her exams and her revision technique involved taking taking a small amount of speed on the night of the exam and she would pass with very high marks every time. That all can't be explained by speed, she is a supremely intelligent girl but she does swear about it.

Re: Positive Amphetamine effects on daily life?

SWIM has used amp for two years now and he has noticed no bad effects on him except for his addiction, the illegality and the amount of money wasted from obtaining it from illegal sources. Before SWIM began his use he had many problems, rather social or with school. He was a little sluggish and shy, though he was very smart. At school he had only satisfactory marks. The reason for this was usually because the time fixed for the tests was sufficient for him to complete about half of the assigned work (excellently). He would often forget what a person was talking about if what he was explaining was too long. He also couldn't react in an environment with a lot of people, because the topic was usually changed until he could make what he wanted to say on the problem. The people who knowed me showed respect to him and often asked him for advice. Those, who didn't know him, however, would either think he was too proud to speak with them or that he was muff. He was overall not accepted well (he was also fat). He also lacked motivation for ordinary tasks (writing homeworks, cleaning etc) He also had problems getting to school on time or orienting in the environment. One day he told me he has tried speed and he felt this was the way a person has to be in order to achieve sth in this life. He also didn't fel any change in his consiousness, except he saw "the surrounding world" better.

After that I told him there was a desease called ADD, which is treated with amph. He went to a psychiatrist and after explaining his problems, the doctor said he was fine and recommended Vitamins group B as a treatment. Years later he tried it in school with success. After beginning to use it regularly his school grades rose up to excellent in all subjects. He also began to learn how to handle social interactions after years of isolation. He got a girlfriend, and got involved in many extracurricular activities. He became outgoing and confident. However, in order to obtain the drug he had to make contacts with different druggies, who used the stuff in a quite different manner. They took enormous doses and didn't sleep or eat for days. AT first this was unpleasant for SWIM, because it made him feel paranoid and sick, but later on he found the thrill and got addicted. HE spent most of his money on speed and also began stealing from his parents. His health became poor. After finding a sure dealer, he separated from the druggies and reduced his doses (though he couldn't stop it entirely). Nowadays, he has no problems with achieving all of his goals.
