Optimizing efficacy and minimizing adverse effects (oral administration).
Four dosages of 20mg each, two times each week over two weeks, are intended by an unknown person. He knows that magnesium is recommended to reduce tolerance, but not in what doses, and that l-tyrosine may prove useful in preventing depletion of dopamine stores, but also not in what doses, nor whether to dose l-tyrosine on days of amphetamine dosage or days of no amphetamine dosage. Also, he knows that citric acid interferes with amphetamine absorption, but not whether citrate ions from magnesium citrate would be a source of concern. Finally, he has been told that compounds such as calcium carbonate serve to increase GI pH and thus increase absorption, but does not know whether the additional calcium would effect tolerance by increased Ca++ influx into NMDA receptors.
He also does not know much about the effects of food on amphetamine absorption - would dosing before or after eating (breakfast) be more effective, and would the meal be best composed of proteins, carbohydrates, or fats? Any advice would be appreciated. |

Generally I would think that amphetamines would be more effective on an empty stomach.

Didn't know about magnesium descreasing tolerance although it will effectivly reduce a lot of peripheral side effects. Tyrosine may increase anxiety also.

Skipping food seems to be a bad idea, though, as malnourishment is almost certainly a factor leading in the experience of adverse effects.

Well, yes. But the drug itself will be more effective when taken on an empty stomach, or one that has already ingested some baking soda. One could eat after the pill kicked in, just force down something, against one's will. SWIM took up the unhealthy habit of eating protein bars while speeding, to prevent malnourishment.
