Lightbulb Krazoom Kratom growing Journal with Pictures!

PART 1 OF 2

My KRATOM GERMINATION JOURNAL

April 01
- got seeds through airmail (note:took almost a month
of shipping as expected of airmail, and still got nice germination rate)
- prepared containers including plastic cups and plastic trays
- used compost pit as the growing medium
April 02
- continued with more plastic cup potting mediums numbering to almost
150++ plus the trays
April 03 (night)
- sprouts appear to begin in many containers, appearing at a rate of 20
minutes
- dedication to my sprouts were so special that i have to go back at
home during lunchtime from office to look for new sprouts, to water
spray them and adjust the sunlight exposure, everyday
.
.
.
.
April 07
- 1st set of leaves appeared and 2nd set is about to start
April 12
- 2nd set of leaves appeared that totals to about 600-900
seedlings!!! got very excited
- for aiming to even hasten the growth, had thought about fertilizer.
did internet research on it like urea and a 14-14-14 which is available
in a nearby plantshop
.
.
.
.
then comes FRIDAY, 13th which i never realized that time, probably due to my preoccupation with my magnitude seedlings...

April 13
at lunchbreak, dropped-by to the plantshop to order urea(46-0-0) plus the complete fertilizer 14-14-14, all in granule modes.so excited in applying to my seedlings which i really fell in love with, really.....

then, the unthinkable, the most tragedy, the most hurting/painful i had in recent times....
when i arrived, i immediately applied the 2 fertilizers...at first there was no visible effect...i first had my lunch and upon finishing it, my unfortunate fate occurred, there was a mass murder of my baby seedlings with its budding 3rd set of leaves.how remorse my feeling was then...one of the gloomiest and saddest moment in my life...by that time about 200-300 wilted immediately...then i patiently rushed in removing the fertilizers one by one gritting my teeth and how sorry i'm feeling as i remove each pellet of those fertilizers...oh God, just killed my babies!!...
after removing all of them, they seemed to be fine...then went back to office...after returning home around 6pm, another hundred of my seedlings wilted, probably due to the liquified fertilzers...really messed...i felt so desperate....don't know what to do...felt so helpless as almost every 10 minute or so, a fatality is to be expected...
i tried to transplant one as an experiment to move away from the fertilized soil, but it still died...so then, i put in more soil and water to flush the strong concentration...
still got deaths but at a slow pace about 5 per day....

April 18
- after feeling helpless, i realized that my remaining seedlings on its 4th
set of leaves is looking healthy and seems to withstand the assault he
hence my passion was back

April 20
- there are no more mortality in my remaining seedlings...hence, i got
this will and strength to show off my seedlings photos...

PART 2 OF 2

PHOTOS ATTACHED
  • THE TWINS
--one of the better things that happened,...A TWIN BABY KRATOM!!!
happened when the initial 2nd set of leaves wilted and died, it
retained the first set, then it amazingly produced 2 sets of 2nd
leaves!twins, baby
  • THE TWINS AND THE GIANT...
  • MOST MATURED seedlingS on its 3rd week, having its 4th set of leaves...
  • NEW SPROUTS are appearing, mostly in the side of plastic container which almost always die when doing a cutout from the container and still others just sprout upfront...
.................................................. ............................................

OBSERVATIONS on my seedling vs other seedlings published in the internet

1. FASTER GERMINATION RATE AT 2DAYS MAX...
2. TALLER SEEDLINGS AT 3RD TO 4TH SET OF LEAVES
OR NODE INTERVAL IS QUITE LARGER

ANY COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS, HELP IS HEARTLY APPRECIATED...

THANKS

Re: My 3-week KRATOM growing Journal with Pictures!, plus fertilizer genocide!

Fantastic looking seedlings, congratulations! SWIM tried growing from seed once but not one sprouted. I think the problem was that he stored the seeds for a long while before planting them, and they were no longer viable.

SWIM really needs to buy a new digital camera. His kratom plant is now going on three feet tall!

thank you man,

regarding the viablility, take note that my seedling took almost a month in shipping through airmail...although i planted it right away...
almost entering its 4th week, after the horrendous death camp of my seedlings, there are still sprouts that occurs at a regular rate so it's really amazing that after the onslought of the fertilizer and the physical shocks, there are still baby sprouts...most of them thrives at the sides of a transparent plastic cup.. what i usually do is to punch through the side using soldering iron but it's so sad to know that they later died...one good experience i realized here is that i have to wait for them to mature a little bit to offset the shock...

just today, i had 3 sprouts...i will be making a new journal for my new sprouts...

regarding SWIM's 3-foot tall K, that's fantastic man! how i wish i can fasten the growth of my seedlings to reach that maturity level....

anyway, i'll just keep you updated...

thanks!

Re: My 3-week KRATOM growing Journal with Pictures!, plus fertilizer genocide!

SWIM still has some seeds, maybe he should try sowing them again following SWIYs methods.

Here's what SWIMs 3' kratom plant looked like in September:

http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/sho...1&postcount=33

It looks much more vigorous now, and the leaves are full-sized.

No source discussion here, of course.

The plant was purchased as a seedling about a month before the picture was taken. It was something like 6" tall when it was received. So, I don't know how old it is.

*edit* Thanks very much for reformatting your post. Having to scroll sideways to read a thread is infuriating!

Re: My KRATOM Growing PHOTO JOURNAL [episode II,week no.4]

SWIMs cats are VERY curious about the plant in the closet. SWIM is planning on moving it out of the closet for several hours a day, to see if it will acclimate, but the plant is big enough now that the cats can't really do too much damage.

Beautiful little babies, krazoom. I hope SWIY gets lots of healthy plants!

Re: My KRATOM growing Journal with Pictures!

Do not list sources, by inititals or otherwise, thanks.

All those aux. buds lead me to believe that SWIY and SWIM are growing different strains for sure.

Re: My KRATOM growing Journal with Pictures!

Perhaps I should have said different hybrids or different phenotypes?

There are different strains of kratom, for instance the famous "Red Korth." Also, variants seem to include Thiai or Bali, red vein or white vein, etc. Since SWIY is growing from seed, he will probably notice the individuals looking somewhat different from one another over time, just like as occurs when one grows a bunch of cannabis plants from seed.

SWIY will want to select the individuals which share the most desirable growth characteristics. What these are with kratom, besides potency, I couldn't say yet. I have no idea what strain SWIY nor SWIM is growing. I don't have that much knowledge on the topic, just basic info such as I've shared in this post.

BTW, if you haven't seen the thread lately, SWIMs plant has started branching. He needs to get a new digital cam as the webcam pics are not very good.

Happy gardening to SWIY!

Re: My KRATOM growing Journal with Pictures!

oh really? i'm just really perplexed why i do have a many buds at only its 6th week...what's the link to SWIys budding plant?

also, i'm thinking if location and environment has something to do with the physical structure of a seed-grown K...it seems to me there are really lots of variation...however, i only see fully branching K plants, but not at my stage where the leaf length are still not fully grown...

i have started a 2nd project with seeds from a different vendor...one difference with my previous seed was that my new seeds are relativly bigger in that i can able to plant them individually by picking them up with a thin stick that is wet then place them on a pot...got 30++ sprouts on its 3rd day..it's nice that i was able to catch them shedding away their seedcovers, hence i'm 100% sure they were from tha K seeds...i will compare this new seed with my previous germination...

anyway thanks for your thoughts...
have you seen something like mine before?i'm just really wondering
at their growth rate...
