Hi there!
I started out on 10mgs of Lex about a year and a half ago. My dosage was quickly upped to 20 mgs as it failed to make a difference in my anxiety and depression at 10mgs. I stayed on 20mgs for a while, I have to say that of all of the SSRI's that I have been on, Lexapro is by far the best. Lexapro was helping with depression, anxiety and flashbacks. Eventually, my doc upped my dosage to 40mgs. I noticed that at 40 mgs, I have a lot less anxiety, and the obsessional thinking and flashbacks have subsided a great deal. The only problem is that this extremely high dose of Lexapro makes me REALLY drowsy and sleepy during the day. Well, it could be the xanax that makes me so sleepy.
But, to answer your question, I have NEVER heard of caffeine interfering with the efficacy of Lexapro. About Lexapro working for you again, I can't say. Everybody I know who is on lexapro had positive feedback.
Hope this helps!
