Storing - Mushrooms in Plastic Bag in Fridge: Decomposing?

Well i tripped last night and i thought i would need alot but 2 caps sent me into space.. anyways.. i have had them for 3 days now.. and the ziplock is filled with dark blue/purple liquid and seems like the shrooms might be breaking down? How long will these last in the frig? Also.. what i did was blended them all up into a super fine pulp. (i did this with Sunny D + shrooms lastnight and drank it and whoa..) anyways i was thinking i could just blend this to liquid and put them in a bottle so it is air tight... how long would they last? what if i blended them to liquid and kept them in the freezer? How long will they stay potent? How can i tell if it is going bad? Last night was my first time doing them and ive read up but i cant find anything that answers my questions.

My idea.. (Quick Review)

Blend to Liquid then keep in Frig(hopefully) Freezer if i must.
When i wanna trip just poor some in a cup add Sunny D and Trip.
(Sunny D + Shrooms = Taste GOOD )

1) Is this a good idea?
2) How long will it last?
3) How can i tell when gone bad?
4) How long till less potent?
5) Is vitiman C an enhancer like it is on LSD?
6) Being liquified, will they last longer?

Do they have any odor besides a mushroomy one? They have started breaking down, and are probably no good. Freezing that mess will not help. When you put mushrooms thatarefresh into the fridge, they will keep alot longer if they are put into a paper bag, not a airtight one. Next time dry them, vaccum seal with dessicant, and put into the freezer. The gooey mess you have is more than likely bad if they are oozing and already breaking down. I wouldnt eat them.

Im trying to get my pc to let me upload the pics i took of them... really they smell exactly like they always have.. i see no mold or really NOTHING diffrent.. just ALOT of juice... but the juice was in it when i did it and got a lvl 3 off of it... is the juice bad? I was thinking about just trying the pure juice... figured it was the chemicals and stuff from the shrooms coming out maybe.. figured itd be major potent... let me see if i cant get this cam to work grrr..

but ya liek i said smells exactly like it has since i got them and looks the same too.. but now they are a little mushy do to being soaked in the juices (which is what i thought is what made them even stronger when i did them) -shrug hehe its more like purple water.. not really ooze or anything..

and if i did try them.. will i just feel sick if they are bad? how long? or am i gonna die? i was thinkign about trying them friday if they didnt look deadly..

also i have soem of the same batch "fresh" in the freezer in a ziplock.. would i be better of using those? i heard that kills the psi stuff.. (i dont but friend does actually and offered them to me)

btw would i get a dessicant from walmart? what section?

and how much do Vacuum Seal things normally cost?

Easiest way to dry shrooms? Less obvious too? im 21 but i got bros and sisters that dont need to well you know..

You can dry them with a fan and a window screen, or just dry them in dessicant. Get it at walmart, its called damp rid. Use a sealing rubbermaid container with dessicant on the bottom covered with a paper towel, and lay the mushrooms on top of the paper towels, then keep it sealed, changingthe dessicantas needed until dry. Its alot more effective and cheaper to fan dry them first however, and finishing the last 24 hrs of drying with the dessicant. I believe its in the hardware section. The vaccum sealers are pretty costly, I got mind for 150 bucks, but you may be able to score cheaper on [edited]. Do not freeze fresh mushrooms. The water in the cells will burst, and when they are defrosted, they will be a gooey mess. You can get away with freezing in ziplocks and a teabag full of dessicant, they will just not have the same shelflife as if they had been vaccum sealed..Make sure that they are also put into something like a couple paper bags to keep them in the dark.

More than likely, if anything were to happen with bad shrooms, it would be stomach cramps and serious nausea. It just depends on what is present as far as contams go. Some contams are killers, yes.

what type of shrooms are they? a while ago i had some shrooms that i'd kept in a baggie, a similar thing happened to them aswell just not to the extent your descriping. i took them with no apperent loss potency.

nausea is a common side effect of mushrooms and theres a chance you will feel sick even if theres nothing wrong them. I highly doubt you will die or have any major problem taking them. that aside, i wouldnt recomend you take them, i suggest buying/picking some new ones and using the preservation method described by OneDiaDem.

I really dont know the names... there are only a couple that grow this time of season in florida (from what ive read) .. the cap was tan ish and when it got to the middle it was brown... sort of like a sunburst? the stems were thick and when i go them they were quite colorful.. the blue was around the cap the stems were completely blue.. my step dad found them in a huge pile of horse dung.. hes done them before so he knew what he was doing.. i wasnt sure at first i thought i was gonna die :x laugh.. but now i know they are real thing.. but yes the liquid is like just purple koolaid it doesnt have any thickness to it.. i really wish i could get my cam to work for uploading picks .. but i have kept tem in 2 plastick bags and sealed as tight as i can in ziplock bag.. and its in the bottom shelf of the frig (which is darkest spot hardly and light)





So maybe ill start with a little bit and if i start to feel good ill take more.. i can handle the cramps and shits and throwing up it will just be a valueable leason!! :P but when do i worry? like i wont take them if i see ANY contams at all.. but if i take them.. what side effects do i worry about? i had a friend OD on me once... he was having MASSIVE siezures.. you think seriosuly contamed mushrooms would do this?





Either way imma try getting some more and try doing as you suggest because that experience was so awesome.. i was sad to find out my poundpull is now no good -cry atleast they were free :P

It is impossible to OD on cubensis. You would have to eat 10 times your body weight. It was probably a poisonous mushroom.

Do yer homework. The vaults at www.erowid.org(or is it .com?) have a wicked pictorial library of Shrooms, and show their poisonous cousins too if I remember rightly. If you're not sure about a Shroom, don't even touch it, as some can be deadly even in very(and I mean very) small doses, and can often look very similar to the ones you want. If you're serious about Shrooming, a good field guide is a good investment.

As to your friend, as ODD says, chances are it was a poisonous fungus. However, some people do react badly to trips, especially if prone to epilepsy or have mental health issues. I've never heard of a fatal OD on Shrooms, although stomach cramps, nausea and vomiting, restlessness, anxiety, paranoia, fever, seizures, and psychosis can all put a real downer on proceedings (this is meant as a sliding scale, dependent on dose, drug, and individual - if you're in good shape physically and psychologically, know what you're taking, and don't go overboard before you and the Shroom know each other, then you should be o.k.). Mouldy mushrooms are never a good idea, as you don't know what bacteria or fungi are growing there, and the chances of making yourself seriously ill are greatly increased.

Shrooms can be valuable allies and teachers, and lots of fun, but should be treat with respect. Take the piss and abuse their hospitality, and they'll slap you round the face! Don't overdo it, but do have fun!

Sorry i didnt mean to suggest he ODed on shrooms, it was off a cocktail of drugs not even shrooms i twas just the only time i seen someone OD and thats what they were doing.


But now that were on it.. my GF was convulsing off and on when we took these the other night... is that common? She said she couldnt help it.. it wasnt ALOT just a little here and there. I was so scared i almost called 911... because i was traumatized by my friend ODing.
