Tolerance to Ritalin

how long on average would you say it takes to develop a tolerance to ritalin and if you cease using will your tollerance go down?

Re: Tolerance to Ritalin

Sorry, you should have more patience. Indeed yes, SWIY's tolerance will go down rather quickly after ceasing his intake of methylphenidate. I believe that this topic was addressed in a different thread, you should try searching first. In order to properly address this question, it would be helpful if you could answer how much methylphenidate exactly was/is SWIY taking, and for how long?

Re: Tolerance to Ritalin

Take a break for a few days, eat plenty of protein, take 500mg of a Magnesium supplement each day.

It works for Amphetamine for SWIM, so I assume it would help with Methylphenidate.

It can't hurt in any case.

Re: Tolerance to Ritalin

SWIM used to have a prescription for ritalin, 100 X 20mgs, and for the last few months he had it he'd binge as soon as his script was filled. Usage varied, but there would be none left after a week.

Every month followed a similar pattern: first day was like he had no tolerance, second day he had a slight tolerance, third day on the tolerance became a bitch.

In SWIM's case the tolerance goes away after a week of no use, but tolerance builds up REALLY quickly after a binge.

YMMV
