i heard it was something to do with a police number or code that was used to notify/identify the "authorities" if an idividual or a group of people were smoking marijuana. (i.e. student handbook code 49B or something you would hear in a cartoon)

no one really knows, but i think it's generally believed that a random group of kids started the whole 420 thing because that's when they'd get together to smoke after school

buying 1,000 dollars worth of bud and going to swims friend's house with 10 friends including swim and his friend who is hosting.
duct taping his basement door shut and baking the hell of his basement.
swims friend has a 4 foot bong, three 1 foot bongs, three pipes, a vaporizor, and a four hose hookah.
lots of paraphernilia
and at 4:20 p.m. lighting up a half-ounce blunt
its going to be an experience

Swim will probably be baked the whole day, he also plans on eating a good 2 grams of shrooms around 10 in the morning. Where he lives swiy can go to the legislature and smoke weed without getting arrested (only on 420) so he might do that as well. Swim wishes everyone a happy 420.

4/20 (April 20th) is also celebrated by neo-nazis as it is Hitler's birthday. As well as the date of the Columbine High School massacre. Several other odious acts were committed on this date as well. So this rather makes it easy for the uninformed to assume that pot-smokers are nazis with guns.
