Odd behaviour at a Rave - What was in that minty tube?

So I was at a rave in LA last weekend and noticed someone who had something like a nasal spray tube but without the bottom part (just the tube). I saw him exhaling into one end into other peoples' eyes. This one dude was rubbing his eye back and forth really hard after taking a shot in the eyes like it was very irratating. He also inhaled it through his nose. There was also a smell associated with it and could be best described as "minty" like Vicks Vapor Rub. I didn't seem to see any effects as everyone was drunk. Does anyone know what type of drug was used, if any? I tried to be descriptive as possible and would appreciate any help, thanks.

Vick's vapo-rub was more than likely exactly what it was. Much loved by some on the British rave scene since Year Dot. SWiY won't have seen any effects, as it is it is not psychoactive, but it can be refreshing way to remember to breath & the menthol gives the impression of a cooling effect to the old lungs & nose, which some say gives a nice little boost to their experience.

If blown into open eyes it certainly is irritating!

Yea swim loves the vix when he is on E expecialy in the eyes it makes his body feel all tingaly and just intisifies the trip

How intriguing... SWIM uses vick's vaporub when he has a cold/influenza, as it does the job just perfectly!

So Vapo-Rub really does cool one down on E, then? Mind you, one would have to be aware that it is not a substitute for liquid intake.

It most certainly does not. It provides the feeling of a cool breeze for a short while, it does not affect body temperature whatsoever. Vick's is no substitute for a fever reducer such as aspirin if one is sick, for example.

I knew that. I actually meant that it gives a sense of cooling. Shoulda been obvious, really, but I see how ya misread it (or rather I mistyped it lol).

It was Vicks. The reason he was probably spraying it into his eye was to make himself b;ind. God knows why.

Apologies for any confusion arising from my above post - to clarify, Vick's does not in any way cool the body down. To do this SWiY need water in moderation & cool night air. Vick's does however act as a decongestant, allowing easier breathing, & the menthol gives the impression of cooling. Above post edited.

You forgot something important, Micklemouse: It also smells gorgeous!

'Tis important to remember, though: It does not in any way lower temperature. You often hear of E users who die of extreme dehydration/hypothermia.

Also, kinda off topic, but it's important to remember that drinking excess amounts of water has killed numerous times - your brain swells up (something to do with osmosis I believe I dunno) and you die from that. Niiiiiice. Betcha never heard of H2O poisoning!

Funny story...

When my pal Swim went on his insanity trip out to the desert, he found himself with a rash on Day 3. Perfect, he thought to himself, my first real vacation in years, my first time alone and free to be as insane as I always wanted to be, and I get a fucking rash. My first rash in years.

Well, there was no way he was going to suffer this for the rest of his short vacation. He had big plans for Vegas, god dammit. He didn't know what those plans were...only that he planned to tear up the town. The final result was beyond even his wildest fantasies, but that's a story for another time.

Not knowing the cause (probably had something to do with those Mexican transvestites in El Paso), he hit it with everything he could find: hydrocortizone, gold bond powder, benadryl cream, etc.

Upon reaching vegas, he decided to try applying Vicks Vaporrub.

I've always enjoyed Vick's Vaporub for its cooling effects and gorgeous aroma! Shame it's so frickin' greasy though.

Don't get it near your eyes. It hurts. A lot.
