DMT Effects?

Swim was wondering what the common or desired effects of DMT is

swim was told doctors use DMT to put patients in a trance/dream life experience. (With patients that are misserable, depressed...ect in life)
The patient tells the doctor of what they are "dreaming"-(AKA on DMT) and the doctor tells them to do something (spiritually or emotionally) on a daily basis and the patients unwanted feelings vanish
