Drug-related jobs?

Are there any jobs that are related to drugs in some way? Besides being an international drug lord..or an author or something. I guess scientists and those who do research are about it, huh? If any of you can think of any others please (legal ones..) post them! I'm just curious, I'm not looking for employment, so I hope the mods don't virtually bitchslap me for posting this

Re: Drug-related jobs?

Get a degree in pharmacology and become a researcher. Then you could design new drugs, new delivery systems, study the effects of drugs, investigate clinical and therapeutic uses for drugs, do lots of other stuff.

Get a degree in public policy and get involved with drug policy.

Simply join an organisation that works with issues such as drug legislation or research and try to help out there, such as Drug Policy Alliance, Students for Sensible Drug Policy, MAPS, etc.

You could work in a pharmacy.

I'm sure there are plenty of other options, I just can't think of them at the moment.

SWIM wouldn't recommend anyone with a deep interest in drugs ever work in a pharmacy. Sadly, SWIM has personal reasons for feeling that way.

P.S. and aside from that, anyone below an actual pharmacist is basically just gonna be counting pills (heck, that's half of what pharmacists do as well). The 'researcher' suggestion sounds much more promising.

Isn´t that paradox?

Become a medical doc, alcoholism used to be PC, the older days, but now

Re: Drug-related jobs?

- Look at the myriad of products sold at head shops. All those businesses have needs for marketing, sales, graphic design, legal services, administrative support, product design, etc.

- Criminal attorneys that specialize in defending drug cases can attempt to change some hapless individuals' lives.

- The publishing market has many books that are sold to educate on a variety of drug culture issues. Writers needed.

- An artist? Create drug comics. They were a big hit in the day, and led their creators in a number of lucrative directions. Blotter art is collectable these days. Posters? Web images? It's an open field...

- A philosopher? Pontificate on the drug culture itself, it's relationship to religion, to pop culture, to the future and the transformation of mankind. Become a speaker like Pinchbeck, Pesce, Erik Davis, etc., supplement speaking gigs with writing projects.

All those are above board endeavors in the drug realm. Some imagination required to find what fits your needs...

Re: Drug-related jobs?

How about a crackpot with political aspirations? Go on crusades against some harmless plant while scaring parents to death with endless streams of pathological lies about children being brain-damaged. Such fun!

I'd rather be a flea on the drug-sniffing dog. Lay about all day smoking pot, getting the munchies, and sinking my fangs into the woofie for snacks!

Re: Drug-related jobs?

I worked at a low lovel in a pharmacy a few months back. Once, I was given a box full of water tubes. The water went down the drain, the tube when into the bin, and the top when into another box. Given that there were 500+ tubes, its amazing how badly you can fuck up so monotonous a task. They decided not to keep me on the next week. I never even saw a drug, for cholesterol otherwise.
