Questions About Fentanyl

Hey everybody, I just have some questions regarding fentanyl. Someone I know has a couple ampules of fentanyl for intravaineous use. They are 100mcg vials of fentanyl citrate. Well he doesnt want to IV it, and I was wondering if it is possible to just drink the solution instead of IV? And if not then what are some ways he could get a kick off of it. Let me know if you know anything regarding this subject. Thanks

Rectal administration should work, but swiy should check to make sure it has a good bioavailability rectally. Swiy should also be very careful to use the right dose, as rectal administration delivers drugs into the system almost as fast as intravenous use. Or at least it does as far as ODing is concerned.

Do you think that there is any way to possibly drink it in kool-aid maybe? He would rather not use it rectally if at all possible, Seems like a very uncomfortable way of administration. Or maybe to even dry it some how to insuflate or even smoke. Remember it is a vial of 100mcg, in a solution of water( I believe), so let me know if there is any other way that you know of. Insufflation will depend on how much liquid is involved. If it's a very small volume of liquid, one could possibly place the solution in a nasal spray bottle and simply spray into the nose.

Also, I think most people are ignoring this thread because it's not about heroin. You should always post in the correct forum, and this is not a fentanyl forum. Next time post in the opium, opiates & opioids forum. That's next time though... don't repost this same thread there.

is fentanyl actually used in warfare? i thought i remember reading that they pump fentanyl gas in buildings to kill people, could be wrong tho

They did it in the television show "24". I laughed my ass off when I saw that episode. I have no clue if it's realistic or not, but I would doubt it since a lot of the stuff on that show has very little basis in reality.

Still, I suppose it's possible if there's a way of aeresolizing fentanyl in large enough quantities. The only thing that makes it plausible at all is that it's active at such extremely low doses.

when Chechnyan terrorists held up a theatre in russia,their special forces used a fentanyl/oxygen gas to try and incapacitate them all,except when they brought them all unconcious,as the gas was a secret,the medics didnt have narcan on hand to reverse the ovedose,and it killed about 100 odd people! SWIm once drank a 100ug amp of fentanyl and it didnt do shit,it has to be IV,although in theory,rectally should work too.

swim has found that fentanyl has very poor bioavailabilty when consumed orally, that is to say, just drinking it. however perhaps one could hold it in their mouth as actiq (the fentanyl loli) is intended for bucchal (cheek and gums) absorption. swim recalls the instructions said to hold the lozenge in ones mouth for about fifteen minutes, no more no less. in the product info it also again said that just swallowing the lozenge would pretty much render the drug ineffective. however, there's nothing to say just how feasible this is or if iv ampules are even effective this way. who wants to hold something bitter like that in their mouth for a quarter hour anyway? BLECH!

plugging it seems like a better way for swiy to get off on it though.

Does anybody happen to know how to test the authenticity of fentanyl. Maybe use an opiate drug test? If you were able to just put a drop of the fentanyl citrate solution in the drug test and maybe dilute it with water, do you guys know if that would read a possitive result for opiates? i think those dipstick tests only test for morphine. i think you'd need something more sophisticated like gas cromotagraphy to detect fentanyl, but this is just my amateur guess.

SWIM isn't sure that this would work. Fentanyl is an opioid, a chemical which has opiate like effects in the body, but structure wise is quite different from that of naturally occuring opiates. The opiate EMIT test tests for morphine and related metabolites, and SWIM doubts that fentanyl would have similar metabolites.

It should read positive as an opiate. It is one.
