Soma (Carisoprodol) and Acetaminophen (Paracetamol)

Does this look like a safe mix? Soma (Carisoprodol 175 mg and Acetaminophen 350mg)

Swim here's that you need 700mg's to get the nice high. So one would need to take 4 of these but thats 1400mg's of acetaminophen. Does that seem a safe amount?
Also can you get some on its own or is it always mixed with aspirin or acetaminophen?

Soma (Carisoprodol) - getting rid of acetaminophen?

SWIM is thinking about trying Soma, and noticed it contains 350mg acetaminophen per tablet (at least the brand he's looking at). Will a cold water extraction (CWE) work to get rid of it? Thanx.

SWIM is very curious as well. Could someone please followup on this? Thank you in advance.

The real question is, is Carisoprodol water-soluble?

From rxlist: Carisoprodol is very slightly soluble in water. Freely soluble in alcohol, chloroform and acetone.

From the Material Safety Data Sheet: Insoluble in cold or hot water. Very slightly soluble in methanol or acetone

From the FDA suitabilty petition: Very slightly soluble in water, freely soluble in alcohol, chloroform and acetone. Solubility independant of ph

Re: Soma (Carisoprodol) - getting rid of acetaminophen?

SWIM knows somewhere between a little and nothing about chemical extraction, but he would like to learn. From the reading he has done, this is the best he can come up with. Does SWIJ think it would be possible to dissolve Carisoprodol pills in a small amount of acetone, then strain with a filter onto a shallow flat pan, blow a fan on it and evaporate off the acetone, then scrape the Carisoprodol residue?

Or are there more complications SWIM is not yet experienced enough to know about? SWIM wants to learn, he is very curious. Are the fillers and chalk and other things in the pill soluble in acetone as well? If so, SWIM speculates that additional steps are needed. Thank anyone in advance for replies.

Probably somewhat more than SWIJ then!

She's not able to help any further with this topic: Maybe a passing chemist will stop by?

Quote:
Paracetamol has a very low solubility in nonpolar and chlorinated hydrocarbons such as toluene and carbon tetrachloride whereas the solubility is very high in solvents of medium polarity such as N,N-dimethylformamide, dimethyl sulfoxide, and diethylamine. Paracetamol is soluble in alcohols, but the solubility decreases with an increase in the length of the carbon chain in the n-alcohol homologous series (methanol to 1-octanol). The solubility of paracetamol in water is much lower than in other polar solvents such as the alcohols. The ideal solubility of paracetamol is calculated, and the activity coefficient in the saturated solutions is estimated.
If one could get ones hands on chlorinated non-polars, like dichloromethane, or even better, trichloromethane, one could extract the carisoprodol by dissolving in it the chlorinated non-polar, in which it is freely soluble.
Paracetamol has a very low solubility in chlorinated non-polars, so it won't dissolve in it.

If you're thinking of shooting it or snorting it: STOP! It works just fine orally (too well in my opinion), and should be left as is.

Re: Soma (Carisoprodol) - getting rid of acetaminophen?

SWIM agrees with Nagognog. They will work in a matter of 10-20 minutes. SWIM has built up a tolorance to Carisoprodol but he has taken 10 350mg pills in a night, (5 at once then 5 an hour later) and it hardly any more intence than 4 or 5.(SWIM doesnt recomend taking 10 SWIM has developed a tolorance) And SWIY wouldnt need to extract the Acetamenaphin unless he was going to take more than that.
