Wish me luck..taking a break due to rapidly increasing cocaine tolerance/cravings
A couple days ago, I posted and said I wasn't feeling the high from cocaine anymore unless I did A LOT! So I'm going to try to quit for a couple days or a day or something like that. So wish me luck. It's so hard to quit. I lock up my c in a box that I lock up, so I actually had to put the keys to my box in my car for tonight, so I wouldn't do any. That's bad huh???

Naw man..that isn't bad at all. That's good. Do whatever you have to do to keep yourself in check and your coke use moderate. Taking breaks like this can go a long way and save you energy and $$. Grab some caffeine pills to help. Good luck

It's called Redemption snuff. I bought it before but can't remember the URL. Try a google search on it and you should find it.

I hear alot of people use Khat that that are trying to quit.. Aparently you can extract a nice little chemical frmo it and snort that instead.. Just a sujestion, but is it realy better to quit one thing only to be hooked on another?

^^ I see your point, and I don't think it is. However, this redemption snuff is all herbal and is said to not be addictive. Compare it to the nicotine inhalers for cigarette cravings if you will..

Sunday was supposed to be the last time, I'd do it...until next Sunday. I slipped twice. Tuesday and Thursday. It feels like it's an impossible thing to do. I mean, I don't feel it unless I do A LOT...but, here I am...Doing it anyway. It's so frustrating!!!!!!! |

A slip every couple of days is better than a slip every night - you've already halved the number of times you're using. Well done mate!
Keep going, keep talking/writing, keep occupied. You've made a start - a week ago did you believe you could go even one night without? It can take a couple of goes round to finally get clean, but it's worth the effort, it really is. Try and find a good counsellor and see if you can figure out just which hole old Charlie was helping you cover up. They don't come cheap I know, but then C aint exactly bargain of the month either! In the short term, Magnesium, Vitamin B complex, and Vitamin E(that is the Vitamin called E, not Ecstasy!) in as high a potency as you can find can help with the cravings and low mood, and help your body and head recover. Best of luck - it's a fucking hard and brave thing your doing, but don't get disheartened when you slip up once in a while, cos that can lead you back down the hole! |

i was given this poem from someone when i was going through a tough time and by reading it it made me feel a bit better and the words are true........
i passed it on to someone else on the board who is also quitting and i also give it to you.... DONT QUIT.. when things go wrong as they sometimes will when the road you're trudging seems all uphill when funds are low and debts are high and you want to smile but you have to sigh when care is pressing you down a bit rest if you must but don't you quit. life is strange with its twists and turns as every one of us sometimes learns and many a failure turns about when they might have won had they stuck it out dont give up though the pace seems slow you may succeed with another blow success is failure turned inside out the silver tint of the clouds of doubt and you never can tell how close you are, it may be near when it seems so far so stick to the fight when you're hardest hit its when things seem worst that you must not quit hope this helps linda a mum |

But the problem is that he's trying to quit. What use is a poem telling him not to quit.

the idea for the poem is, if he slips then he is not to look at it as a problem or a failure but to turn it around.
i would say to you to read it again slowly and think about the words.. "so stick to the fight when you're hardest hit its when things seem worst that you must not quit" the 2nd paragraph means that when you feel that things cant get any worse, that is when you have to say firmly "i'm not going to quit" if you read it in the context that it is written you will see it in a different light.... linda (a mum) |

what i mean by !i'm not going to quit" is that no matter what, he is going to make it although it might be slow but he will do it...
thought i would clarify that just incase you thought different. linda (a mum) |

I'm so angry and sad...I swear, all these emotions!!!! COOL poem!!!! Thanks, Linda Hey, that's my mom's name

Two days is a long time to walk without a crutch Cabs - well done! Stay focussed, find distractions, and avoid situations and people that you associate with C (and that might include the topics on here about how 'great' C is.)
Coke, like many drugs, is an emotional suppressant, so it's only natural that you're being bombarded with stuff right now. It may take a while, and won't be easy, but it passes. Keep talking and posting, find support groups, but resist the temptation to go back to the old life just to escape your emotions. In the long run it doesn't work. Kick back, watch 2 days turn into 4, 8, 16, a month. Put the money you would've spent on C in the bank and watch it grow. Set yourself a time limit, then treat yourself to something you really want, that doesn't begin with C! Best of luck, Cabs! |

Yeah, I know...My coworker, who got me into it...As been annoying me! He'll ask me to get him some, and he'd pay me back...So I get some...And we end up splitting up the bag and I have to pay for that little crap of a bag...I know, so I need to avoid him...especially....Since, I'm trying to cut down or trying to go on for awhile without it, how do I know, if I can do it socially??? Or is there such a thing???

Nasty bind mate! First off, cover your back - join your nearest NA(Narcotics Anon.)now! Also, if you have a good relationship with your doctor speak with him. Make sure people know you've got a problem and are trying to sort it out. Then, tell your colleague that you aren't doing C anymore, and that if he carries on hassling you, you'll shop him. He'll probably try to intimidate you, in which case shop him for harrassment and bullying. At this point he'll probably try to implicate you, which is why it's important to have your back covered - if the shit hits the fan you can prove that you've been trying to sort your life out and distance yourself from a life of crime(the 'crazy, mixed up kid' defence!). Alternatively, look for a new job - harsh if you enjoy what you're doing, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made!
Potentially shitty situation, but if you carry on feeding this arseholes habit, you'll end up poor, with little or no self respect, and at worst busted, while he sits back and finds someone else to leech off. He's nothing more than a parasite. It is possible to do it socially, but it takes a lot of strength and self awareness, knowing that you've been addicted. Maybe one day, but not for a long while yet. Stay strong, stay clean. |

Oh, totally....Last night at work, he usually asks me to get him some...He actually didn't...So I was thrilled because I didn't have to come up with some lame excuse. Even though, he knows when I'm lying to him. I'm staying strong. I haven't slipped, so that's good. Oh, btw....What do I do with my stash. I have an ball left, and I don't want to give it away and I don't want to toss it. I've spent so much on this habit, I wan't to get some money back. Any suggestions???

Well, I'd never encourage or condone dealing, but there's always your dipstick colleague. If he owes you and you're not going to use it...
Although giving it away as a random act of kindness to someone who you like and who would appreciate (not need!) it might leave a better taste in your mouth and a smile on your face. Plus you really don't want to encourage your colleague to rely on you anymore! Why lie to him? Just tell him you can't help him. In this situation you are under no obligation to do anything you don't want to. Even if you do know a score, you wouldn't be lying by saying you can't help him. Language is a very powerful tool, and the words you use and think can make a huge difference to your life. Be as honest as you can, but there times you can use shades of grey whilst not being dishonest. |

Yeah, or maybe I can give it back to my dealers and I can just ask for half for what I paid for... Or I can give it away....I'll probably cry about it later. LOL! I can do so much with that money, but oh well. Atleast, I'm not craving it as much anymore ![]() Yeah....I did talk to my dealers and I told them, don't give me any...Whatever you do. And they agreed. So I think that solves my problem with that ass. Ugh. I'll just tell him "NO." Which is actually so hard for me. |
