For those of you enjoy the full flavor of cooked mushrooms, here’s a recipe for Sautéed Mushrooms that you could use.
I suppose you could add a few magic mushrooms without affecting the flavor, but I'ld try it without magic mushrooms, first, just to make sure that you’ve got the process right. Besides, this is a GREAT RECIPE, with or without them. Serve as an appetizer with ice-cold beer, it also goes well with steak or pork chops. ------------------------------------------------------- INGREDIENTS: 1.) 2-3 Tbl spoons of extra virgin olive oil 2.) 1 cup chicken broth 3.)2-3 Tbl spoons white wine 4.)2 Tbl spoons Butter 5.)3-4 large cloves of fresh Garlic. 6.) 1/2 tea spoon Salt 7.) 1/2 tea spoon fresh Black Pepper 8.) 1/4 tea spoon Sugar 9.) 1/8 teaspoon MSG (sold in spice section as “Accent”) 10.) 1 Tbl spoon dried Thyme 11.) 2 tea spoons dried Chives 11.)MUSHROOMS: a.) One pound of Button Mushrooms b.)3-4 Large Shitake Mushrooms (optional) c.)One large Portabella Mushroom (optional) d.) Your own magic mushrooms (optional) PREPARATION: This is important; have everything ready so cooking goes smoothly. 1.) Remove and discard all the stems from the mushrooms 2.) Chop mushrooms in large pieces no less than 1/2 inch thick (3/4 inch = ideal) 3.) Peel & chop garlic the cloves THE COOKING PROCESS: Please note that there are THREE separate stages in this cooking process. 1.) Roast the garlic: a.) In a pre-heat sauté pan over high heat, add olive oil. (If the oil begins to smoke, it’s TOO HOT. b.)Add the chopped garlic to the olive oil. Cook it just enough to wilt the garlic, but NOT brown it. This should take about 30-90seconds. c.) Add salt as the garlic is cooking 2.) Rehydrate the cooked garlic and dry spices to blend into a sauce: Here’s where you take the flavor of the garlic and mix it in liquids to form the beginnings of a sauce. It starts out very liquidy, but that’s good because you want the extra liquid to rehydrate your dried spices and add flavor. Begin this process just as you notice garlic starting to turn brown. a.) Add -white wine -butter -chicken broth -sugar b.) Stir the liquid to allow the butter to melt c.) When the butter has thoroughly melted add: - Thyme, - chives - MSG d.) At this point, your sauce has too much liquid. You need to remove the liquid without reducing ANY of the ingredients, to do this simply continue cooking over high heat and allow the liquid to evaporate. .3.) Reduce to a sauce and add Mushrooms: Your liquid will continue to evaporate as you cook. When the bubbling has significantly subsided, and the sauce becomes relatively clear, the evaporation is complete. At this point the the wine will be reduced enough to have lost it’s sharp vinegar/alcohol flavor, and both the Thyme and Chives should be completely rehydrated having incorporated their flavor to the sauce. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as necessary. It’s now time to: a.)Add the mushrooms and cook for 1-2 minutes. b.)Add fresh Black pepper while cooking. c.)Plate & serve If you want to get fancy, you can sprinkle it with a little parmesan or mozzarella cheese Last edited by Phungushead; 17-07-2009 at 21:47. No joke... BLEND THEM up with some SUNNY DELIGHT .... to a fine pulp no chunks.... you cant taste anyhting but the Sunny D!!!

I luv coffee grinding about a 8th into powder than make into a chocolate bar! that also makes the shrooms kick in alot faster

mushroom recipes?? as in to cook with and consume mushrooms ... or are you loosely using the term "recipe" as a way to produce mushrooms?
Here's a couple recipes for consuming mushrooms both magic and otherwise... recipe 1- Stir fry with cury and pepper recipe 2- throw dried mushrooms into coffee grinder and mix into honey, spread on bread and enjoy. recipe 3- call Pizzaslut and order a mushroom pizza, wait 30-45 minutes, pay the delivery driver and enjoy |

magic Mushrooms Recipes
Magic Rumballs
ingredients: -1 1/2c. graham cracker or chocolate wafer crumbs - 1/2oz. dried, ground up mushrooms. -1/2c. finely chopped nuts - walnut and pecan are awesome - 1/2c.butter -1c.icing sugar -rum enough to moisten/hold together - more icing sugar direction: 1. combine dry ingredients, 2. add butter and rum till they hold together- but not a mush. 3. Roll into balls and roll in icing sugar Makes enough for 4 people to have an 1/8th... provided you really like rumballs, cause depending on the size of the balls you'll prolly get 2 or 3 dozen out of the recipe... so if you dont get the munchies then maybe cut back other ingredients. -also yummy with brandy -other stuff to consider a) rum and coconut instead of other nuts b)brandy and chocolate wafers, shaved chocolate instead of nuts, and roll in chocolate sprinkles Honey mushrooms Coarsely chop dried (or fresh, I imagine) mushrooms and loosely pack into some beautiful little jar which is shallow enough to reach its bottom with your finger. Add honey to fill all spaces. Hide in a dark, cool place and try to forget about it for a month or two. Eat by fingerful for brightened colour. Mushroom Sesame Balls Ingredients: Dried, finely ground mushrooms of your choice. Double that volume (not the weight!) of the best whole sesame seeds. Fine honey Dash of salt. Toast the sesame seeds lightly in a dry cast iron frying pan on medium high setting, stirring heartily. When they start popping and smelling great, that's enough. Pour them into a bowl and let them cool. Set a small handful aside, then whiz the rest in a blender until there's only about 30% whole seeds visible. Add mushrooms, whiz again. (For additional Ch'i, you can do all this whizzing in a suribachi.) Pour into a bowl, add a small amount of salt and enough honey to attain clay-like consistency. Roll into one-inch balls, licking hands frequently. Roll balls in whole sesame seeds, store in tightly sealed container in a cool place. Take anywhere. Guard against unsuspecting refrigirator raiders. |

Mushroom Smoothie (for about 3 people)
You will need: Orange juice (preferably with bits, not from concentrate) Apple juice (pressed) Blackberries Blueberries Raspberries Strawberries 2 bananas Vanilla essence About half a tub of yoghurt (cold or frozen, plain, vanilla or berry flavoured - ice-cream can be used instead) Honey Mushrooms (dried or fresh) Throw it all into a bowl (except the honey) in your preferred proportions. Blend. Add the honey. Blend some more. And some more just for good measure. Ensure it has the consistency of yoghurt. I stole this recipe from my brother who refuses to divulge the proper proportions. Also, he doesn't make it with mushrooms, so you're on your own there. =( |

Crescent Breakfast
Stuff the mushrooms into a crescent roll and then eat it. Surprisingly, the bread masks the taste well enough and they're great. To make it breakfast, put some eggs in there too

Mushroom Tea Ingredients: 1/3 - 1 1/2 pounds of fresh picked and washed magic mushrooms.
5 - 10 cups of lukewarm water. Tea Bags. Sugar. Method: To make this magical brew you must first gather your fresh magic mushrooms. After you have your mushrooms you wash them off (cow manure can carry diseases). Now cut them into SMALL pieces on a cutting board (try to catch the hallucinogenic juice you'll need it!) and put every part of the Magic Mushroom into a pot with your water. with making the mushroom smoothie allow the smoothie to sit after blending and a foam will start to come out of it. scoop this foam off with a spoon and it will save your friends and you from bad stomach gas issues

yes, too much heat will.
i don't know how much heat exactly, but mixing zooms into a hot dish/drink after it's been cooked is ok. |
